Normally agree with you Guinness Boy , but I don’t think a lack of character or resilience has ever been an issue for this squad, see Palace and Liverpool.

They have more resilience than me, I had given up from the comfort of my sofa 10 mins from the end

Well. of course, 18 people to date have taken the OP at face value and understood that I was talking about the extra character shown to score an 89th min goal with only 10 men away from home.

A certain Swede who only posts on here to get a reaction these days didn't understand it and therefore I had to contrast it with a game where our heads dropped when we conceded.

In general, you're spot on. We have one of the better groups, although when the wheels come off, they really come off (Maupay practically substituting himself, reported nightclub incidents).

If you are referring to me, I understood it and disagreed with it. I dont think what was said on Saturday had any impact on the outcome.

There is nothing wrong with the character of this side, and I don't believe it has anything to do with what happened on Saturday. Character doesn't come and go, from match to match; the team has it or it doesn't.

Coming back from 2-0 (and 3-1) down at West Ham two seasons ago to draw; the win at home to Arsenal as the first match of Project Restart; the 3-3 draw at home to Wolves after being 3-1 down at half-time....

Whatever you might think about the quality of our players (and their goalscoring abilities), there has NEVER been a question about the resiliency or character of the group (and, by extension, their belief in what Potter is trying to do).

Indeed.

I was particularly impressed with our press and swarm early on yesterday. Very aggressive, with several players quite comfortable taking the ball forward then finding the wide man, and doing the Citeh trick of swarming when the ball is lost. Wet Sham are a big strong side but for large parts of the game they couldn't get out of our grip.

Absolutely and you can add Burnley, Liverpool, Palace and now West Ham to the games this season where we've gained points from losing positions. Shows the resilience and yes, the impact of Potter's subs.

What a difference a goal makes eh?

If Maupay hadn't scored his wonder goal in the 89th, we would have been picking over the bones of another inevitable defeat.
It would have been a very different forum than the one we have today.

But as he scored a worldie, we feel like we beat West Ham 1-1.
Our 'never give up' attitude is so important. Think of our second half against Citeh, our comeback against Liverpool, Maupay's late goals at Palace and last night.
I suspect it's worth several points over the course of a season.

By the way, I thought Bissouma was outstanding - he broke up play and drove forward relentlessly. We must keep him.

its fine margins - had Moder hit the ball a foot to the left or had Antonio stood 2 inches to the left or right.

What isn't fine margins though is the overall standard of play which is light years ahead of 20 years ago and is consistently the best we ever have played considering the quality of the opposition . I think some people have short memories

The other day you asked Swansman (mockingly) why he was so attached to Graham Potter and, when he had answered in good faith, you trashed his response.

And here you are picking on him again.

Is this what NSC has become these days? A moderator carrying on a personal vendetta against someone he has an issue with?

That isn't the NSC that I want to be associated with. :(

I suggest you read the England Women's 20-0 thread.

If I think NSC is being trolled I have a right to say so.

I appreciate the concern but dont let him colour your view of NSC. He is just some bloke. Yes, a mod, but in the end just some bloke.

While not every post from me is perfectly thought through I doubt that has much to do with it. I think your annoyance comes down to that have very different perspectives and attitudes on Brighton and life/society most of the time.

Several of us on the moderating team use the pub analogy on a regular basis. So when several pub regulars who have, over the years, contributed to the look and culture of the place complain about the bloke who's always in, sat in the corner, nursing half a pint and disagreeing with every comment the regulars make I tend to listen.

I've heard several "pub regulars" complain about you over the years as well. Do you listen to those, or do you only listen to what you want to hear and see what you want to see?

Does the pub watch scheme not extend to Croydon?

Over the years?

You've been here less than three.
