The tweet is from an 18 yr old not a journalist. He does appear to be Uraguian though so he might have heard something perhaps but not a reliable source as such .

We’re seemingly filling the coffers with U23 left footed centre backs (Atom & Cashin).

It‘s no surprise that we’d be looking to grab a couple of U23 defensive midfielders also.

He didn't make the original tweet. The original was from Fernando Sinsolo who appears to be a reputable journalist for El Pais (Spain) as well as a host on Uruguayan sports radio.

Here's a tweet from him:

This guy also wrote:

The captain of the sub-20, Fabricio Diaz has everything agreed with the English team Brighton. He will not be summoned for tomorrow's match against Nacional at 3:30 p.m.

He wasn't in the squad today, did start the previous few matches.

Was that what he said or what you said? Your answer may inform the narrative in terms of credibility. ???

He has just as much hype from South America as Santos did who signed for Chelsea. Another example though of exploiting South American markets other than Argentina or Brazil. Much cheaper with just as much quality if you find the right ones.

Having done a bit of a search it appears he’s very highly thought of. Shone in the u20 World Cup. Defensive midfielder and didn’t play this weekend due to ‘an injury’. I think the injury is very similar to young Moises’ hamstring injury in his last week with Brighton.
Wonder if this spells the end of the Baleba interest or whether we would take them both?
Maybe Lille have priced themselves out of that one.
