Not reading through this thread so give it to me straight…. Is he any good now or is he for two years time xx
My mate's mate's uncle once drove Guy Poyet in his taxi and he reckons he's SHITEHOUSE.

He’s a Caicedo, Baleba is more Bissouma like. Let’s have both!
Bit of a risk taking a 19 year old and a 20 year old who have both played so few minutes in top flight football.

I’m a little surprised we didn’t try for an experienced DM, even on loan. A Phillips or Delaney for example. Just to dovetail with the new young talent for a season or so whilst they get up to speed with our unique style and the EPL.

However, I do trust the club on this. They normally get it right.

When was the last time we took an experienced player on loan?

Loans? Very unlikely, and surely Dahoud and Milner are exactly the experience you mention?

Sounds good. I'm not getting over-excited about a 20 year old being able to move from South America after the season's already started and slot instantly into a new culture, a new team and a new league but what a prospect again for our strength in depth. 91 league starts already under his belt suggests he won't take TOO long to get up to speed.

Absolutely this. Am expecting no more than cameos from the bench later in the season for this season, hopefully followed by more of a role in 2024/2025 if the player develops and settles well.

I have no inside information, could be completely wrong, and find that the lad slots straight in and becomes indispensable. However, we have to give young players a chance to settle and acclimatise before making any judgments on their contribution (or lack of)

In the interests of player insight, I googled "Martina Diaz". You get some very curious results.
I'm pleased to see you are maintaining nsc's rigorous standards of research that is invested into each potential signing.
Let it be said, we leave no stone unturned.

My guess. We get him. He plays in the cups and is 4th (or possibly 5th if we get Beleba) choice centre midfield. In January, if we're out of a cup or two and don't have injuries, we loan him somewhere.

If not, he'll stay around and get some games, as we don't really have another specialist CM. But getting above Gross, Gilmour, Dahoud and Baleba on a regular basis will be tough

I think you’re massively understating how good this kid is.

Which of Gross, Gilmour, Dahoud and Baleba do you see him getting ahead of?
Baleba straight off the bat. He's both older and more experienced has loads of Spanish speakers around him to settle quicker. Looks neater on the ball.

Is that true? It was the case a year ago but with Facundo on his way out, we only have Pervis and Julio as native Spanish speakers now (although I bet Igor can speak Spanish and I believe Milner does).
