I think our mistake, or at least TBs mistake, was treating a football manager like a player - Hurzeler probably will be a quality manager in a few years time once he learns his trade... but that's the issue isn't it. He's learning his trade here right now, and making a lot of mistakes.

Maybe we should be patient with him. Maybe it will pay off. Or maybe it won't. That's the gamble - and it's not a gamble the fans are willing to take, who very much desire and expect results now, not in 5 years time.

Don’t think we can take the gamble think we are very much in a Sami situation (not as drastic ) where I think we need to get shot early

It's not just about the results.

It's the way we're playing. We often look lost and confused. Our defence is as open as the side of the Titanic.

There's nothing about our games, even the wins, that I can point to and say: that was good, that was Brighton.

Maybe I'm overreacting, and I would love to be proved wrong and called a prick at the end of the season, but for me there is something deeply worrying about our play this last few months.

Something is off. And we can't sack 25 players. So Fab has to nut up or f*** off.

To me, our style is a high press, lots of pressure on the opposition in their half, and use the wingers to make the pitch wide. We play the ball from the back to invite the opposition press in a very similar way to RDZ. It obviously didn’t work today - without Baleba and a very good co-midfielder (Ayari recently) it can’t work.

Not really sure what FH thought would happen today, but I definitely see a style of play - and I’m prepared to give him time.

Fence for me although I have never really taken to the bloke. If he has lost the dressing room then, of course, he has to go but until/if we know the truth then maybe it is all just about the injuries. To be fair it is difficult for players to learn a new system especially when we have such rotation

I think his strategy was to try to emulate Bournemouth the week prior and avoid Brighton's mistakes against Everton (allowing the block to stifle us). Essentially if you score first Forest might crumble (as they did against Bournemouth) as they are so counter-attacking. It was obviously really high risk (similar to the high line at Chelsea). I really think it helps us understand quite how dependent on Baleba we are. Fair dues to Hurzeler for having the bollocks to try it, but like the Chelsea high line I can't imagine we'll try it again soon

What players have improved under Fab would be one of the key indicators of his tenure:
Apart from Baleba and possibly Ayari I'm not sure any players look better now than they did at the start of the season. Even the new players like Rutter seem to have declined under Fab. Couple this with sidelining major talents like Enciso, Barco and Ferguson with some shocking man management, Fab needs to go.

I was slaughtered after the Chelsea debacle when I stated that he was tactically naïve in the extreme and I couldn't warm to him. I'm getting closer to thinking he's just a talentless ego that doesn't learn and is incapable of admitting his own mistakes or shortcomings

I'd expect/hope they were a little more professional than pissing their pants on NSC.

Chelsea will be rubbing their hands with glee tonight. They smashed us to pieces when we were in a decent run and winning games. If we play like we did today Palmer will have 7 by himself befor half time.

Need a huge reaction. What and how that is I don’t know. I’m always willing to find excuses for poor runs and see the best/positives but even I’m starting to struggle. I’m putting today down to losing Baleba and Ayari at short notice and, and, and.… no I can’t. Today was awful. Let’s at least hope lessons learnt.
