Why the rant Woz? It was NEVER a red - possibly not even a yellow - Boa Morte did worse as he did a proper kick out at Lamps...
One word: Aliadiere.
Keith Lamb, Boro's chief executive, said (last week): "There is one rule for the big boys and another for the rest of us."
Right decision for the wrong reasons.
As red cards go, it was pathetic. However, as you're not supposed to have red cards rescinded for this reason (only 'mistaken identity'), this decision to reverse it should not been allowed to happen. Having said that, common sense has prevailed.
Now all we want to see is some consistency in the application of this (non-) rule, and not just for the highest-paid (as opposed to 'best') players.
Was bollocks then and bollocks now. Have you noticed how Southgate has said nothing? Aliadiere has said nothing? It was a clear red card, and it was obvious what would happen on appeal. They are morons. As hilarious as it would have been if Lampard got an extra ban, it has nothing to do with Aliadiere, it wasn't the same. One word: Aliadiere.

the problem with this and all other cards that are recinded, is a refs mistake may have altered the outcome of the game . In this case it didnt, but there have been cases where tight games have been ruined by a stupid decision which is subsequently recinded...the damage has been done
Sensible decision, well done to the F.A.
Lampard is a teriffic player and certainly not a malicious one, I am glad common sense has prevailed.
