Still think Nunez isn’t up to top 6 standard and would be perfect for a club / team like us… holding the nerve JC style.

What on earth was that disallowed for?

Back in Sussex
Wolves take the lead….celebrate for ages then suddenly realise …disallowed
It was really quite strange watching our game today and realising, after each goal, that once given it could not be overruled.

In a Premier League game, I'd initially have been holding myself back on the Lallana goal, wondering if there was any chance he was offside.

Radio commentary suggested that Sheffield Wednesday's opener today was very tight and would certainly have been up for VAR scrutiny if the game was at St James Park. I'm not sure I agree with some games having it and others not in the FA Cup.

VAR is basically there as a safety net mechanism to prevent teams like Wolves getting results at places like Anfield

It was a good example of exactly why fans hate VAR and how it sucks the enjoyment out of everything. A bit like Mitoma's v Arsenal. Technically, he was in an offside position (just) running back in the previous phase, but no lino on earth would've given it.

The decision to disallow Ali Mac's stunner v Leicester still riles. Yes, you could technically argue Mwepu was offside, but only if you think his attempted overhead affected the defender's clearance (a matter of interpretation). There's absolutely no way it would've been given pre-VAR. As with tonight, no players appealed for it.

I hate the fact that VAR is being used by the PGMOL t*ats to find any reason they can to disallow a goal.

This is once again a clear showcase of how the ‘big 6’ are favoured by officials everywhere. Loads of clear decisions going Liverpools way. A weird looking VAR call where the ball didn’t go to their guy in that phase of play… I don’t get it and it’s not explained.

Also, the comms earlier said Bruno for Saudi wasn’t offside cos the keeper saved it - yet I didn’t think that was the rule. And Shearer of all people said it was offside earlier. It’s so confusing at times - but there’s been clear prejudice towards Liverpool at Anfield here…

And there they’ve sort of cleared it up a little more where it was the corner taker that was off. But not one of the comms (sorry Virgs) noticed that and all seemed to say it was the fella who scored - when it clearly wasn’t! Clueless.

Oh and also, that Robertson stamp - deliberate? But again not entertained by the comms or VAR - can’t help but think of that was the other way round and the same incident it would have been made a lot of. Or anyone not in the top 6… Remember that Hemed Newcastle one…

Good news for us, tough replay. Liverpool do look very ropey. Got to change at some point that. Unless they're just a bit crap these days.

The silver lining with the goal ruled out is that Klopp's going to have yet another predictable moan about FA Cup replays.

Having been in English football for over 7 years, you'd have thought he'd have got it by now.

I sort of feel we should be starting favourites for the game.

Now ok, of course we won't. But for the first time we're playing Liverpool and on form I feel we should win the game

Actually a good discussion on the offsides on ITV - saying Salah's should have been disallowed as he clearly benefited from being in an offside position.
