Watching the quarter-final draw, I grimaced as the studio pundits purred in delight as the remaining Big Four left in, were all kept apart ( funny that ) and likely to all make the semi's ( just as last year !! ) No romance in the draw. Just pure plain predictability and sadly, that is what the media and armchair fan wants. The biggest clubs in the semi's and the final.

And when Scholes remarked that we should fast forward to the semis he was discounting the chances not just of Rochdale and Wigan in getting past Citeh and Spurs but - no disrespect to Massive - discounting the chances of - potentially - 4 Prem teams in those semis (us, Southampton, Swansea and Leicester).

He's not that clear and lucid when he makes his points.

It is reported that he failed recently to land the position of Oldham Manager and if he interviews anywhere vaguely similar to the way that he talks as a pundit, then that is no surprise at all.

How was he mis and underused by England? He got 66 caps? He chose to duck out of international football at the grand old age of only 30. Perhaps he didn't fancy the challenge of Lampard and Gerrard.
