I was reading his manifesto earlier. Really liked many of his policies, especially chucking the royal families out of our palaces and giving them to homeless people.

We’ll agree to disagree. VAR wasn’t brought in to rule out people being an inch offside. It was brought in to prevent goals like Thierry Henry’s infamous handball and has massively over-reached the original intention.

That was just the final straw.
We were already in way to deep of over analysis, of this exact situation with screams for VAR, because the big teams were always favoured and the referees needed help.

I'm not defending var because it's shitehouse, but unsurprisingly everything written now is just the flip side of everything written pre var.

But would you say an advantage is being gained, by that degree of minutiae?

I get the rules, are the rules, but goodness me, VAR is an absolute nightmare.

My former colleage was a ref in the county league and got endless abuse. As a spikey Glaswegian it was all off a duck's back.

Till one afternoon and he thought 'f*** this'. Walked off at half time, grabbed his kit bag, got into his care with his boots still on and drove home. Never again to blow his Acme Thunderer.

Football 'supporters' have a considerable scum contingent.

I certainly don’t think you should get shit and that’s undoubtedly wrong. I also doubt very much VAR is improving that situation - it seems to have created far more controversy around officials rather than reduce it.

It’s not clear though. They don’t know where exactly to draw the line. The frames aren’t acCurate enough. They can’t tell exactly when the ball is kicked. And it still looks level to me. Stop digging a hole.
