Looking from the other eye, the stewards found that Hamilton was predominantly to blame.

That means Max was partly to blame.

Ham got the penalty, Max didnt, of course, but the penatly was rightly only 10 secs as he didnt try and take him out, as we have seen in the past with some drivers, he just overplayed it.

I said earlier, had Hamilton gone off, exactly the same incident in every respect but his race was over - I personally suspect Max gets the same 10sec penalty for turning in and not giving space.

Max has had an engine change and rain is a possibility, expected 30 mins before the race.

I’ll go out on a limb here and suggest that Lewis, on medium tyres and just 8 points behind Max, on soft tyres, will not be as feisty as he was last week on the first lap if they end up side by side in the first couple of bends. I imagine Bottas and Hamilton will try to block a Verstappen overtake. Bottas isn’t a great starter though.

They could of course, depending on the weather, start on wets or intermediates which levels things up again for Max

Well, it’s given him a chance at least to fix elements so it’s the only positive thing for him so far. I’d like to see the incident again as Norris just seemed to break dramatically compared to those around him. Could be just Bottas messed up though.

Yep, has to be a penalty for Bottas and I suggest that has nailed him getting the boot from Mercedes. Awful driving caused all those accidents.

In fairness maybe some extenuating circumstances given the wet track but as a layman that looked like a complete feck up by Bottas to me.

Can Verstappen get back up to 2nd? Norris, LeClerc, Bottas and Perez all out so a lot of the threats are out plus he's decent in the rain.

What a result that would be if he got 2nd and fastest lap!
