What time does Quali start today ?

(Normally make do with CH4 highlights, but I think a dodgy stream is the way ahead for this one )

which one did he get away with? and did he not take out hill (i think) at monaco?

Schumacher was not penalised for taking Hill out and so won the title. In 97 Villeneuve won the title with Schuey second so, because it didn't matter, they removed all Schuey's points for the season already completed, meaning he didn't finish second. What a punishment!

Sadly, they had no data in those days and the analysis by the stewards was very simplistic.

Hill was putting maximum pressure on Schumacher which led to him hitting a barrier. He successfully argued that because his front right wheel/axle was damaged, the car automatically turned right (and in on Hill). Utter BS. Hopefully the FIA do not accept more of the same from Max after tomorrow’s race and inevitable crash.

I am a big LH fan and always have been. Will be able to cope with Max winning as long as it's fair. If Max drives the wheels of his car and keeps it clean, fair play and congratulations.

Trouble is I can't see that happening. I find it genuinely sad that Max, probably the most naturally talented/nurtured driver on the grid just can't see the difference between hard racing and rule breaking. The FIA have not helped this season as they want the spectacular racing but have allowed this to develop, especially by not punishing Max in Brazil for what everyone except for Max and Red Bull felt was a professional foul. For the uninitiated, Max throwing it into the corner and out breaking himself looks like a committed driver that has just run wide but throwing the car into a corner knowing the speed you are going will never let you make the corner and therefore force your opponent wide isn't racing. Further, what Lewis did to Max in the last race was hard racing and just about acceptable as Max wasn't alongside Lewis and Lewis followed standard procedure of taking the racing line, this has been the way of things for years.

The way Max speeds into the corners, breaking late just to keep position and constantly forcing himself or others off the track is insane and shouldn't be allowed.

He is just banking on people valuing their lives more than overtaking.

The FIA have brought this potentially shit scenario about by allowing Max to be mad all season. They should have got a grip on this months ago imo

Silverstone aside Lewis has backed off every time, it shouldn’t work like that, all drivers should be circumspect even when racing hard. The way Max has been allowed to get away with his driving is 100% down to the FIA being weak imo, he should have been disqualified or had points deducted for some of his frankly dangerous manouvres.

Looking forward to this qualifying.

Every chance of Max "doing a Jeddah" again, just pushing too hard in his quest for pole, and slipping up somewhere. No wall to hit this time, obviously, but he can still trash a flying lap.

One of Prost's criticisms of Senna was that he thought Senna thought he was immortal and would take greater [dangerous] risks.

I see a bit of Senna in Max, exceptionally quick but will push the envelope in any direction he can to his advantage and not always within the rules or spirit of racing.

Max has flat spotted his race starting tyres going for a second lap. Will he go out on a new set and try and better his time on another set?

Talk of asking to put new tyres on for tomorrow because the flat spotted tyre is dangerous. Really?

Come out on a new set of soft tyres rather than mediums, interesting

Edit - Max top in Quali 2 on soft tyres so he starts on softs and Lewis on mediums. I hope he doesn’t end up in third in Quali 3 and start behind Lewis in first
