Going on Holiday Saturday.
Can't find my passport.
Turned house upside down, inside out.
Will keep looking.
Thought I could go up to London and get one issued for £100+
Just checked and apparently the one day service isn't available for LOST passports?!
Is that true?! Anyone lost their passport, and got one issue on the one day service?
Next service is 1 week, called up, and they said very, very unlikely to arrive in 5 days.

Yes, I know it's my fault for leaving it so late.
Yes, I have looked where I thought I left it.
No, I don't remember where I had it first.

f***, f***, f***, f***.

Everywhere
I lost my passport and went up to Victoria passport office and was issued one on the day, just report it to the police to get a crime number.

When was this? Apparently they've got WELL strict. (understandable, I guess!)

When is the last time you remember having it?

When did you last see it?

You must be able to remember that?

July last year. Came back from France. Never use it for ID or anything as use driving license. Have checked both suitcases and hand luggage we took.

Near Ducks, Geese, and Seagulls
from the direct.gov website

An adult passport costs £77.50 for standard service and £112.50 for the one-week Fast Track service. A child passport costs £49 for standard service and £96.50 for the one-week Fast Track service. The Premium one-day service is not available for replacement passports.

edit: sorry, you already knew that!

I like this. It reminds me of late Philip Larkin. Roger McGough at a push.

Yes, not bad at all.

I'm f***ed!

On another note, has anyone ever changed a long haul flight with British Airways? Is this even possible? How much did it cost? Etc. Their website is useless.

Sleeping on the roof
I bet it's fallen down the back of whatever chest of drawers you have and is now lying on the carpet below the botton drawer (it's where all my important stuff always ends up :) )

think it depends what type of ticket you have? The cheaper one tend not to be amendable. Check your ticket t & c's (assuming you not lost them too )

I put a flight back 3 months last yr and it cost me about £50!

That's good to know. Thanks.

Thankfully my Grandad has the tickets. At least I think he does!

I don't live with my mum. But for some reason, she did search her house, but couldn't find it.

I'm 99% sure I haven't used it since my last holiday (this time last year). Have checked used hand luggage, suitcases, etc.

I did the "same day" passport service a couple of months ago, but had to make an appointment to do so, and couldn't get an appointment for less than 4 days. When I got there, it was acutally a pretty good service though.

Was this for a renewal, or had you lost it? I've called up the advice line twice now, and both times they've confirmed the one day service can't be used for lost passports. Even when mentioning I have a holiday in 5 days.

I have roped in some females to search my flat tomorrow. Girls are good at finding things. Fingers crossed.

You can get it in a day from the Petty France office as Pishead said. However take a book and food as you'll be there a long time. (I know, I've worked there).

Petty France office is no more.

And, the one in London, as mentioned above, do not allow the one day service for lost passports.

Argh!

Three things you can do:

1. Declare it stolen, get police number and then call passport office. Only lost passports are excluded from the fast track service - not stolen (at least that is the way it was last year).

2. Were you born in the UK? Are either of your parent from another EU country? This is not as dumb as it sounds. You can generally obtain a second passport if you have EU parentage, your full brith certificate, and the appropriate consulate office in the UK issues emergency passposts (which most do as they are geared up for it).

3. Kick the dog.
