I meant to say most expensive players to play against us as in transfer fees paid before they paid us, not fees then paid for after they played us.
So that would rule out Milner, Lescott etc. Barmby must therefore be the winner at the moment

Gary Hart made Joleen Lescott look completely 2nd rate and then he went on for fees of 30 odd million and then played for England.

Akinbiyi wracked up transfer fees of over £15m and I'm pretty sure he has played against us.
In fact, the more I think about it, I am sure he scored against us.
He played for us.
