Ha ha. No, but I’m safe as she doesn’t listen to any of the nonsense I spout anyway.

Plenty of people commenting here on a TV programme you can guarantee they haven't watched.Have you seen the refugee camps in Greece & Turkey? My friend is a nurse who uses her annual leave to help in these camps.
The vast majority of refugees are in these camps. You & similar posters keep referring to Calais & men that have arrived here from there, whereas I am talking about refugees not economic migrants.

Syria cannot be rebuilt until the war has finished. In the meantime people are dying in their thousands.
There will never be peace in the Middle East. I'm nearly 70 & cannot name a year when there was peace there. Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Lybia, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Aden, etc etc are always at war either against each other or civil.
I agree with this idea, although the only way it would work would be for countries to take many many more refugees. The reason people avoid the camps is because they can be stuck in them for years with no movement. Can't really blame them for going direct.
You think Brexit was a vote FOR the moribund political class?
What about the last EU elections that returned a majority of UKIP MEPs, far more than any other political party?
The British people in relation to the EU have long been sending messages, and the political class are reaping what they have sown.
Once political decisions in this country can’t be hidden by the Byzantine Brussels bureaucracy (e.g. TTIP) then we have the ability to hold them to account, whether or not we do is a moot point.

If he had any sense he would have voted to leave the EU, once we have left that tax avoiding, corporate cock sucking, corrupt and undemocratic shit show then the people of this country can finally hold our moribund political class to account.
Happy days.
Nothing like a bit of truth in plain English for our faux socialist confused Tory German.
And good point, when this shit shower of undemocratic twaddle is kicked into touch perhaps we can focus on the House of Lords........that is some reform our elite political class certainly dont want but is long overdue

You've searched for two criminal cases of rape from foreigners. Maybe you could research how many rapes are committed by British men? In the interests of balance, of course.
Then look up the definition of bigoted.
I think that Brexit is irrelevant when it comes to the moribund political class. My point is that we have had the ability to hold them to account irrespective of the EU. We haven't, we have continued to vote for morally bankrupt politicians and political parties and this won't change.
People will continue to vote for them. Brexit won't change that. And Brexit won't change the moribund political classes either. No damage has been done to said political classes and they will continue to represent themselves, their cronies and their pay masters. With our without the EU.Then you are wrong.
Brexit, Trump and the growing “threats” of what is now termed populism are entirely the consequences of a moribund political class. It is a great irony that Brexit which was a massive f@ck off from the majority of electorate to the direction of travel that the U.K. has been on for decades because of the decisions made by the moribund political class.
In short the most radical and revolutionary decision this country has made in years was from the older generations, not their younger orthodox counterparts. It says a lot about education, education, education.

There are many reasons to celebrate leaving the EU and many benefits. I don't see some kind of political revolution being one of them.
Hope I am wrong but I can't see it. The political system is too established and too engrained in the electorate. Change in the political elite can only come from Westminster, breaking from Brussels doesn't change what that. There is simply no political will to make the necessary changes. The EU is a red herring.

There are all those people looking for better lives. And then there is Nigel Farage and his poster.
I suppose it was inevitable that someone would want to politicise matters with very simplistic comparisons. The young girl undoubtedly deserves our sympathy and help, but how many are you prepared to help, and we are talking of millions here. How many have you taken into your home? The fact is that we cannot simply keep taking them in, though they might have harrowing stories to tell.

Greece and Turkey? Some people on here can't see past their own front yard.
The world is always on the move. I doubt you could trace your own ancestry back to Britons, and if you had a DNA test, you would find you are a mixture of backgrounds.
Ann Frank and her family would have lived had the Americans granted their visa application, but they were turned down. Only her father survived out of the whole family, just for being Jewish.
We are not overcrowded in this country. Despite all the NIMBYs fighting over every blade of grass, only 2% of our land is built up with buildings or roads.
I have had foreign students stay in my home, and my life has been richer for it. I love hearing about their traditions and their countries.
