Have to go up to town to do 2h or lectures on experimental design for a class of goggly-eyed whelps (I got the lectures rescheduled to earlier). Fast train home, pick up the boy in Canterbury, and off to Nirvana. But only Greek heads a-rollin' tomorrow, Kurt.

Emailed my Millwall buddy earlier to gloat. He had no come-back. Didn't even go anywhere near how lifted our shirts might be. Extraordinary.

I'll WFH tomorrow and log off asap, hopefully around 3.30. Bus into town, where I'll have a little mince around admiring all the BUNTING, before chugging a few pints over a dirty burger somewhere, whilst maybe half-watching some of the first half of one of the 17.45 games (LASK v Liverpool ?). Then it'll be a train up to the Home of Football to soak up the atmosphere and try to get my head around the fact that we're PLAYING IN F*CKING EUROPE

I've got to drive past the Amex in the morning. Might just pop in to see what is happening and get started with the atmosphere. Due to arrive at 7:00 and will go straight to my seat.

Its just a load of generic bland Euro-pap of the kind you hear endlessly on shite like Eurovision. Or an intro-theme to a 1990s Strongman competition staged in Norway, over a slow-mo montage of massive blokes chopping logs.

...and I cuffing LOVE it. I've been after a new ringtone as well.

I organised my whole week so that I would be working in London tomorrow. Stayed in Sevenoaks so that as soon as I end my meetings I can train out to pick up the car and zip down to Brighton. My first game of the season and very over-excited.

Up at 5.00am to watch. May not be able to sleep so will check out when the coverage starts.

Still seems unreal somehow.

Enjoy the game all at the ground.

Woke at 2:45.
Wide awake and couldn’t get back to sleep.

What the hell is happening!!!

We are second favourites for the Europa League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking back to all those trips and meh games over all those years - Walsall on a Tuesday night God knows how many times. Peterborough in the snow - Playoff losses - travelling back from Middlesbrough then Wednesday. Heartache central
And further back thinking of all those folk I recognised and sort of knew and nodded a shared hello to.
All knowing that we would probably lose or maybe fluke a point.
But we were there to follow our club whatever.

And now, it brings a tear to think back and reflect on all that. They weren’t wasted journeys or wasted faith.

Because here we are.

We have all arrived at this moment and it’s just bloody mind blowing.

Give em a shout for me tonight please 🥲
And for those that didn’t make it.

Just about to go to work, this will be the longest day ever. Butterflies are working overtime already.
What a journey it's been so far, and the best is yet to come!

Been NS STH since first season, and our first game in Europe is my first ever game in the WSU.

Done E,S,WSL for odd games, so really looking forward to some roaring and a new perspective in the WSU!
