"An Utterly Impartial History of Britain or 2000 years of Upper class idiots in charge"

By John O'Farrell

Its is very funny and comes out with some very interesting bits

Like in 1216 we actually had Louis 1st as King. Not recorded in history books.
Edward 1st 1290 declared that all jews over 7 years will wear a mark.....of two tables joined of yellow felt( yellow star of david as per the nazi's)

there is some extremely funny bits (laugh out loud stuff) he is one of the "grumpy old men" on TV.

I thoroughly recommend it.

Hi Dave how was Philly?

mostly work ( the americans work hard) but lots of drink, good food, great company but one drawback: over 100 degrees every day - us Europeans are not used to it!

Phili steak sandwich is to die for

No playing cricket and I fail to see the point in friendlies.

Foot long baguette.....layered with sliced cheese.....about half a pound of prime steak chopped thinly.....creamy mustardy sauce....mushrooms.....fat dripping out of it.....followed by a heart attack!!!! ( $4.50)

Also had a New York Deli corned beef sandwich at Reading Terminal in the centre of Town.......two slices of bread......deli sauce.....about a pound of cut red corned beef.....three table spoons of cole slaw.....it was about 6 inches high.....again follwed by a heart attack. ( $3.50)

I am now on a strict diet.

OH btw.....PEANUT BUTTER M&M's..............:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Louis VIII of France, but never crowned as King of England. Signed the Treaty of Lambeth in 1217. The effect of the treaty was that Louis agreed he had never been the legitimate king of England.

Personally I don't like John O'Farrell or his books. Strikes me as one of that new breed of lazy gits who REALLY want a career in the media but have to first go through the motions of gettting a book published about how they pushed a fridge up a hill in Latvia or how they did a Google search and found some random people in the world with the same name as them or something. It's a shortcut to the Z-list and is of zero intrinsic value or interest. IMHO, like.
