Just saw this, it is good news I think. Although we could potentially get:

England
Portugal/France
USA
Ivory Coast

I would prefer:

England
Slovenia
Algeria
North Korea

Just got to avoid Portugal and the French now.

Bring on Portugal. Let's knock the pr*cks out.

Then Argies in the 2nd round please, as they stumble through their group with the genius that is Maradona at the wheel.

I'm relaxed about the draw, even if we get France or Portugal. We owe them both, you've got to beat them sometime. Our first choice is better than either, and I'd rather have an early showdown than three easy group teams and limp out in the 1/4s again.

Wouldn't fancy sticking my hand in that bowl then.

does anyone know if the team drawn from pot 1 then becomes 'team 1' in each group?? and the same with team drawn from pot 2 is team 2 in the group etc.

as i have tickets to a few matches i want to know which games i have without any hesitation or false dawns.

if i end up screaming the house down because i think i have england v portugal when infact i have algeria v north korea i will be livid:laugh:

Perfect draw is Portugal, and a couple of rubbish ones.

1. We get a chance to repay them.

2. It will be a good test - don't want the group games too easy!

3. If they are in our group, then they can NOT knock us out in the 1/4 finals

Agreed. I don't want too easy a draw.

It could empty the stage - like that scene in Caddyshack.

I think they usually draw position in the group as well.

Should be some good groups there. I fancy a few of the African teams will pull off some surprise results, other than SA of course who will become the first WC hosts that dont get to second round, unless they buck their ideas up sharpish!!

Pot 1 = Team 1
Teams pulled out of Pots 2 & 3 then get drawn for team position .
Pot 4 teams fill in the blanks .
