And here it is,the plan to ensure that, should we reach the third round we are guaranteed a big club away: the Premiership teams and the top12 Championship teams from the previous season are seeded at home.Et voila,a chance to make some money, beat a big team AND have permanent rows over ticketing.

I thank you.

Excellent FA Cup idea:

All games played on the same day.

Games go to replays until they're won.

Semi Finals played at Villa, Arsenal, Man U etc. NOT Wembley.

BBC show the FA Cup final

Winners go to Cup Winners Cup tournament.

BBC and ITV to both show the FA Cup Final. BBC coverage to include Cup Final Special Question of Sport. ITV coverage to include Cup Final Special Saint and Greavsie. And Stan Boardman talking about da Gaaaaaaaairmans.

Probably one of the only ways to ruin the fa cup.

I find it quite interesting that you don't think it's ruined already - sadly I think that's me showing my age because until the mid to late '80s, the winning the FA Cup really was almost as big a deal as winning the league.

One of my endearing school memories was the fact that our class in double Chemistry was Albion mad, and one of us would always sneak off to the bog to listen to the Monday FA Cup draw on radio 3 and come back with it all written down.

So many things have ruined the FA Cup down the years. The ones that Buzzer listed, plus Man Utd being excused to play in some shit tournament in Rio. wombat's crappy ideas almost pails into insignificance!

Mike Parry on talksport has been banging on about seeding for years.

I say it ruins the magic of the cup

Given that im only 20 probably explains why it hasn't been ruined for me yet. I never experienced it when it was as big as that, however I think there is still some magic about it.

I think there is still some magic about it.

and it's about time Albion showed some in it, been far too long since we caused a major upset, let's hope we beat Mansfield and get another opportunity not Scunthorpe or some other drab team away from home and a defeat.

As for the thread question, seeding is a terrible idea imo.

Sorry, I lost interest when I read "should we reach the third round".

Apart from that, it's total dross.

Too many changes have been made to football already, both here and by FIFA.

No,No,No,.................seeding in this way would be a truly excellent idea.No more Prem v Prem in round three.Think about it.All Premiership teams have a divine right to win the FA Cup,so it's unfair that AV v MU is drawn by some has been from yesteryear. Why should Chelsea fans have to travel up from Brighton to see their team at ,say,Bury, when OBVIOUSLY Bury fans would love a trip to the Smoke, and their club would make boodles of dosh.

No,see sense you stuck in the past conservatives!Bring in this plan immediately.Redraw this season's 3rd round.

Signed,M.Platini.

Simster is right, in the 'Good Old Days' winning the Cup was almost as big a deal as winning the League. Also Cup games between two teams in the same division would get much higher attendances than the corresponding League fixtures.

Actually I wouldn't be totally opposed to the idea of the 3rd Round (and only the 3rd Round) being seeded. The 'magic of the cup' is all about the minnows having their day: non-league teams beating league teams in rounds 1 and 2, and then lower league teams beating top division ones in round 3. Then the big boys take over and nowadays I lose interest. How many teams outside the 'Big Four' have won it in recent years?

This draw's been pretty poor for potential 'Magic of the Cup' games. (Mind you the BBC would still screen Premiership v Premiership)
