Ex-England Player at today's game

On the way to the ground today, overheard a conversation on the stewards two-way radio about an 'Ex-England player' who was 'on the guest list' and trying to drive up to the ground from London Road. A steward said they would go and escort them through.

Any idea who it was and why they were there?
