At the pub after the game on Saturday, with Herr Tubthumper and a couple of others, the question was broached: "Who is the least objectionable mega-club in the world?" To a man we answered Liverpool. So them.

Liverpool is my favourite away city as well.

I'm not sure it's the case that 'everyone loves Liverpool', but certainly the media seems to be collectively frothing at the gash about the potential 'quadruple'. Whether it is so they can knock them down when it (inevitably) doesn't happen or not, I don't know.

As for the original question, Liverpool - because I've quite a few friends who are PROPER fans of the club. I don't WANT them to win the league - I couldn't give a toss either way - but I'd be happier (for my mates) than if it was Citeh...

If I really HAD to, it would be City.

That's purely based on how much I hate Liverpool and a lot of their supporters. I have no love for City.
...is the correct answer, as far as I'm concerned.

City's fans were a right bunch of tossers after we beat them last season but Liverpool and their huge plastic following are just insufferable.

City. I genuinely hate Liverpool for many reasons. City are no-mark plastics who will eventually be taken down by Greta Thunberg.

Don't want to support either but out of the two I want City to win the league. They are both great sides but City when they are on form they are an absolute delight to watch.

Plus that Liverpool banner they have saying "Imagine being us" really gets my goat.

‘Liverpool FC - this means more”

No, no it doesn’t mate. It means the same to your fans as Rochdale’s fortunes mean to their’s. Or Worthing’s. Or Kidderminster’s.

Liverpool.

Solely because I LOVE you'll never walk alone as a song in its own right. I can't imagine how great it would be to sing that song with it having the added connection to my club.

Unable to make a decision based on rational thinking I've gone Liverpool, just because City have a higher number of players with faces that are annoyingly slappable enough, without having to see them celebrating too.

Being a Manc there is no one I hate more than Liverpool. Hate what Man Utd stand for, what City have become but hate Liverpool because they are Liverpool and I was in my teens before I found out Scouse Git was two words.

...according to Pep, anyway.

If there was a gun held to your head and you had to choose to support one of Liverpool or Manchester City, which one would you support (or who do you hate least)?

Given the number of people on this thread who simply don't understand your question, it surprises me not Johnson is PM and will probably be re-elected.

Incidentally, if you were to create this poll again, how might you reword it so that people wouldn't write 'I wouldn't support either of them'? I think you would need to threaten to cut their goolies off, at very least.

City, even though i loath them. their fans are more normal. every Liverpool fan i have met has a 25kg sack of chips on their shoulder. I know people that weren't born when Hillsborough happened and they still bring it up as a badge of honor and talk like they were there pulling people over the fences ffs

Liverpool because I absolutely loathe Pep Guardiola for his classlessness when we beat Abu Dhabi FC last season.

Both sides of Mrs Jakata's family were Merchant Navy based in Liverpool, both had big families and as a consequence she has squillions of Cousins up there.

Interestingly enough they split to the Red & Blue sides, (ST Holders in both cases) if I get a chance of a ticket & I'm up there I'll go to either.

Would always take Liverpool over either City or United...

I prefer the Spanish manager to the German one so that’s an easy one for me
