Come on, take away the 10 penalties he scored in the Premiership and Zamora had a far better season last season than Johnson had the year before.

still cannot work out where you are comming from he manage only 7 league this season which is the same as an avarage midfielder, how can that be a good season?

Not sure how much use lescott will be to everton. The knee injury he suffered when wolves went into the prem was allegedly caused by the family of an muslim girl he was seeing at the time who werent too happy about the relationship.

Everton have been paying over the odds for players for well over 10 years, going right back to Vinnie Samways for 2.4 million.

That's the problem when you're chasing the pack, the selling club knows your desperate. They have to pay that little bit more than Boro or Bolton.

:lolol: No a mate who is in the ambulance service in the midlands heard that lescott was picked up with a gun shot wound to the knee and that it wwas caused because his girlfriend was muslim and the family did not approve as he is a non muslim. Details will always differ with rumors like this i guess.

I think those of you who are saying you'd have Zamora over Johnson are looking through glasses that are very much blue & white tinted. Yes Zamora is a legend and Johnson a (slightly reformed now he's got out of that hole) c**t, but Johnson is clearly a better player.

I don't think he's "clearly" a better player. The major attribute he has over Bobby though is pace, which everyone looks for in their strikers.

AJ is far better at falling over.

BZ is a reasonable squad player for a prem team. Not sure that AJ will score that many in a side where he is not the main striker that the side play through, as Everton do with Beattie
