A true David vs Goliath.

Anyone else a Boreham wood supporter for tonight's game?

A poor game to put on TV, will probably be all over within half an hour. I caught a bit of Southampton v West Ham on the BBC red button last night, that was a proper cup tie, no quarter given, both sides desperate to reach the QF's and no shortage of quality. I get it if the game was at Boreham Wood.

Was Luton v Chelsea not a proper cup tie game?

It was but there was only a division between them, even that is a huge gulf in class, and the game was at Luton so you got the cup tie atmosphere, CHelsea having to go into the bearpit of Kenilworth Road. Had the game been at Stamford Bridge it would have likely been as dull as ditchwater.

Yeah, you are complaining as Boreham Wood doesn't fit your odd celebrity glamour thing.

I actually think this is a massive banana skin for Everton and Lampard. As I know only too well, shutting-up shop and hitting you with a sucker punch is an art form for non-league sides like Boreham Wood. Granted, there is a huge gulf in ability but that was also the case when they beat Bournemouth on their own patch, who are a quasi Premier League side anyway.

Well, I've never been to Boreham Wood so I wouldn't know, sure it is a lovely place. It is a Goliath v David tie though and the best ties when there are underdogs involved are generally at the underdogs home ground.

I was wondering if they all drove Escort RS1600's but then I realised Borehamwood is in Herfrodshire and Boreham Airfield, more Ford like, is in deepest darkest Essex near Chelmsford..

I will be supporting Boreham Wood but fear many commentators have probably never been to a non league match as they refer to them as plucky or how the right back has got to be up at 4 a.m to deliver the post.
The clubs in their division charge a bloke, wife and two kids in excess of fifty notes to get in, and have facilities we were dreaming of 15 years ago.
All I’m saying is, is there’s non league, then there’s non league.

NB this isn’t a bitter post, merely an observation.

I fear this match will remain interesting for all of 5 minutes. Good luck to the Wood though… would be great if they can make a game of it.

Everton to concede a handball penalty via VAR just so Lampard can have another blast at poor officials after the game.

Will they be using VAR? If so, wouldn't it be much more fun if Everton had another stonewall penalty turned down by VAR or, even better, given by the ref and then overturned by VAR?
