We must be due some luck against big sides? I think we have conceded a couple of goals from deflections when Ryan may have had a shot covered, Hitting the woodwork 5 times cannot be considered shit shooting either. Ref’s decisions, for whatever reason, have tended to go against us too.

You’d hope that we will be very focused on not conceding immediately after scoring too, there is no luck involved in that, just bad game management and Dunk needs to a better captain in those situations.

A good performance and a bit of luck should see us get at least a point.

We may even have a new striker by then!

We are playing Everton at a good time aren’t we. More bad luck!

It’s not an easy game. I think we can get a point though. Under Potter we’re a formidable side on the road.

That said I would not be panicking if we lost.

Just seen that if Everton win on Saturday it will be their best start to a season since 1894!

No idea what we will get at Everton who have had a strong start. Our start has been a weird mix of the good and the bad. Lovely football and bamboozling the opposition with little return. Scoring goals, yet conceding within a couple of minutes. Clever defensive passing and transitions, yet vulnerable at set pieces. Hitting the woodwork is exciting football but, to paraphrase Utd's Hernandez, it's not goals and doesn't win matches. We feel unlucky and the biased commentators don't help my feeling of hard done by continuing through last night's match. All the play, yet a goal down by half time and Potter looking unable to believe our poor set piece defending. The commentary over Pogba's goal annoyed me even more. It isn't supreme finishing when a off target free kick get's deflected off the wall towards a post and bounces in. It's just lucky. Everton are in good form with good results. We are in good football form but without the results, a bit of luck or defensive resilience. Newcastle were poor, but were they dreadful or did we simply make them that way? I thought we were brilliant and they were poor. But again, Everton are different. If we can dominate Everton like we did Newcastle, play our dazzling football, convert woodworks in to goals, tighten up our defensive set plays and the immediate couple of minutes after we score, we can have a great afternoon. But we dare not just feel unlucky or harshly treated. I'm sure Graham Potter has seen the same and has drilled the first team well for Saturday. Hopefully this time we'll come away with a 3pt reward for our adventurous and exciting play.

we will play some nice football, have a lot of possession, fail to put the ball in the onion bag and concede a couple of soft goals.

Which I would prefer to sticking 11 men behind the ball and having 15% possession and losing 1-0

As long as we don’t have another top drawer striker, the result is going to be the same however we play in games against top teams

Oh you never know we can hope. I have put 3-1 to Everton on the predictor thread but then i didnt imagine we would win 0-3 at St James Park. Its a funny old game, we may play absolute rubbish, they may hit the post 4 times (we dont want them to beat our record ) and we sneak a 1-0 win. Seeeeeguuulllllllsssssssssssssss

Let's end Everton's run please!

Bit worried about Maty Ryan.

As far as I can tell Everton are encouraged, by Ancelotti, to take shots from outside the box whenever possible.

I know it's sacrilege to discuss any weaknesses Maty Ryan may have. I ask for your forgiveness.

Not the happiest of grounds...when was the last time we got a point there (happy to be corrected).

Three defeats out of four games played won’t look good no matter how well we’ve played.

Hmm....WBA...six pointer is probably pushing it....but boy we do need a win even if it’s just to boost the players confidence

Maybe they're going to be a bit more circumspect in and around the box this season.

With a new manager and tactics.
