Even though we haven't signed that special striker yet.... it's only....

Im pretty sure once Jan is out the way he's ours for the whole season with no recall clause.... plus Man Utd seem to have recalled every striker they had on loan except Wilson already

Nope. Was made pretty clear at the time that anytime after 28 days he can be recalled as its a youth loan for the rest of the season. I doubt he'll go back. The only worry we have is if Van Gaal is sacked.

He could of course be recalled and loaned to a team that has a strike force for him to learn off, like Wednesday, Derby or Boro, assuming he can get in the team.

So he'll not learn from playing week in week out for poor old Brighton. The team you support. Blimey !

Just because I support the Albion doesn't mean I am blind to the fact that we are very very light upfront and don't have much quality for him to learn from apart from a brilliant player who cannot play all game every game. Once BZ is not playing Wilson is making do with forwards who have no idea where the net it. Really not ideal and yes I believe he would probably learn more playing in a team with a good strike force.

Fingers crossed we get another forward in for him to play with by the time the window closes. I am going for Glenn Murray

So he can definitely learn from Zamora (phew!) but he can't learn *anything* from playing alongside an international striker who has played 150+ games in the Championship and La Liga. Fair enough.
Man United 's coaches/manager and Wilson himself obviously thought otherwise given that they chose Albion to develop the 19 year old over above the competition of your esteemed Boro & Derby & Wednesday.

Guarantee game time here is probably the reason.

Any club in for him would have had to offer that. Go on Icy. Admit that United thought Albion were a better prospect for the development of the 19 year old than Boro, Derby, Weds or the host of other champ clubs in for him because of the quality of our coaches, the team and the set up of the club. Its not hard.

It has been reported that Derby were after his services as well, a team that, like us, had Jesse Lingard on loan.

I believe the player gets some say in where they go, and it is interesting that Wilson chose us over Derby. Did Lingard offer him any advice? Has he struck up a rapport with Solly on Englang U21 duty ? Or was it simply because Tom Ince is a 'back to front'?

Actually the Solly rapport makes sense, He was on fire for his first three games with us when he and Solly played together, and then Solly got injured and Wilson's form tailed off. Coincedence?

I am not sure he fits to be honest - he's unbelievable at running with the ball but I'm not sure that's the type of player we need...

Surely that's the definition of a good footballer, isn't it? Those are the words you use to describe any of the worlds best players.

Plus, his stats say he has been deadly in front of goal at every level he has played at, he just needs to adjust to this one.

Is it? Craig Noone was superb running with the ball but people on here slated him for 'lack of end product'.

Generally, unless you're Messi, people who are great running with the ball play out wide - it's a little unusual for it to exist in a forward. Aside from Henry and Suarez I'm struggling a little to think of strikers like that.

I'm just not sure we've got the time for him to adjust - if he's back from illness we really need him to hit the ground running, we can't afford passengers and he's been one of them in a fair few of the games he's played so far....which have co-incided with us not scoring.

The lads just been ill. Anyone can se that. If united fans rate him. Then brighton fans should rate him.

I honestly believe , if we signed messi people on here would moan he aint good enough, if he went a couple of games without scoring.
Im starting to think the strikers coaches arnt doing there jobs properly. Just my opinion like.

Michael Owen, perhaps? Talking of Michael Owen, where is he these days? - haven't heard him mentioned much in this transfer window ...........................................

If Wilson has what I have, I feel sorry for him. Breathing problems, disturbed sleep, a cough that comes and goes, listlessness. I know people who have had this for months. Bloody virus. It wouldn't surprise me if this is what he has. If so it could be weeks . . . .

I think he's maybe the best player at the club. When 100% he oozes quality, I can't have been the only one to think this ???

You are right, the abilities he has as are not common in a strikers and that is what makes him exceptional and why he is a Manchester United player.

Of course running with the ball is common in wingers, but this lad is also dead eye dick in front of goal, a combination only those destined to be the best in the world have.

With regards to time to adjust, as I Keep banging on, in his first 196 minutes for the Albion, he hit the post as a late sub against Birmingham, and scored against Derby and Charlton, picking up a MOM award. He has dipped since then, but so has the whole team, so let's not single just him out.

Get behind him, because on his day he is a class above anything we already have.

Very happy to have him here I just feel we'd get more out of him if the forwards around him were of a comparable quality. Baldock may turn out to be, but I have serious reservations that he'll flourish alongside Hemed.

The longer we go without signing a striker the more hopeful I am that we will get GM on a 93 day loan at the end of the transfer window.

As good as he is, and for nostalgic reasons it would be nice.

But, is there any real truth to him possibly returning,? Bournemouth only bought him 5 months ago for £4 million. Seems unlikely they would ship him out on loan already.
