As an out and out CF he is not behind Pedro and Rutter, IMO.

Rutter 9 games 540 minutes 1 goal
Pedro 9 games 706 minutes 2 goals (1 pen)
Evan 13 games 237 minutes 1 goal
Have you selected the games Rutter and Pedro played as an out and out CF this season? If not, these stats are pretty meaningless.

There is no point in keeping Fergi for the 2nd half of the season if we are sticking with FH because his form, fitness and style are not helping us at the moment. He can sort two of those out at West Ham and be a better option for next season.

Biggest concern for me is Evan starts enjoying his football again, in an environment where he feels valued and a manager that trusts in him.

Why would he then want to return and give his all next season under the same regime here.

I’m sure people will say he has a contract with us until 2029 blah blah blah…. But player power is a massive thing now.

Said the same thing last week. Very unlikely we’ll see him play for Brighton again.

WHAT THE f*** ARE WE DOING?! What a shit weekend. We’ve lost the plot. How dare FH smirk yesterday also. So pissed off. Ferguson is the answer when confident.
I'm not convinced he is the answer to a seven goal shipment though.

Yes I have chosen only the games where the players have played as out and out CFs.

Rutter and Pedro are much better as 10s or floating around as one of the 3 forwards behind the CF.
They aren't better 9s.

Ferguson could have sorted his form out in the six games that Welbeck was out, but he was dropped from the starting line up after the Leicester game ( his second and last start of the season.)
Instead the CF position was given to Pedro, who did nothing in our first home loss (and worst home performance) of the season.

It's not a question of doing Potter a favour - it's an acknowledgement that he'll probably get more game time there, with a manager who knows him. It seems an eminently sensible thing to do, tbh.
What happens if Welbeck gets crocked again? Playing Pedro as a 9 didn't work and having 1 CF for the remainder of the season is bonkers...Fabs treatment of Ferguson is bizarre.

Yeah - probably not good for Fab, as let's be honest he will need cover for Welbz at some point in the next 4 months, but to protect their investment, the club need Ferguson to continue his development and Fab will only be giving him scraps.

This is important.
Let’s do a bit of reading between the lines and guess that Fab hasn’t handled Enciso and Ferguson, which seems fair. And that he’s dropped Minteh, Ayari and Baleba for disciplinary reasons.
Bit of worst case scenario but also quite likely.
How does that look? How do we have five (5!!!!) of our best young players playing up?
That’s seems almost beyond ineptitude.
It's hugely unlikely that baleba and Ayari were dropped for disciplinary reasons. Nobody with a brain would opt to play a one man midfield using a player on his way back from injury away at Forest.
I will believe the "minor muscle injuries" until there is genuine evidence to the contrary. If Fab is fired this week and they are both fit to play at the weekend I will change my opinion.

This is the Nail on the head for me… TB wants to protect his investment

Unless a precedent has been set and for some unknown reason two junior players have also breached the rules.
If Huerzeler fails to be consistent on that, then Minteh would definitely take issue with it.

I love the fact that people think, on the basis of his failure to f*** anything up during a cameo yesterday, that Fergy is the next Thierry Henri.
For flash-in-the-pans that for five minutes looked like they would be world beaters, I give you Rohan Ince.

I am not saying Fergy is shite. I am saying there is no evidence he can recapture the form of over a year ago. Yet.

I am also saying that blaming Fab for not picking a player who could not get into RDZ's team is a bit queer.
RDZ did not pick Fergy for the second half of last season
One can only assume this suggests that Fergy has an awful knack of falling out with managers.
That's two who won't play him.
I can only assume the boy is unhinged.

Or maybe (I know this is a ridiculous suggestion) he has been injured and/or unwell?
No, absurd suggestion. Laughable.
I'll get me coat.
He has been unwell for a long time

If a decision is made to let FAB go, having Lallana as Manager with Milner as Asst Manager until at least the end of the season would make sense. Lallana worked under both Potter and RDZ and knows how TB wants to play football.

We are safe from relegation so nothing to lose and much to gain if harmony can be restored. Can't say there are any experienced managers out of a job at the moment who would be sutable to our style of play. Might be different at the end of the season.
Real Madrid lost to Espanyol yesterday and Ancelotti looked like a dead man walking. He would be the obvious choice.

It's also doing what's right for the player. If we can't offer him good game time, and somewhere else can, then perhaps we need to let him go (on loan).

Exactly. That’s why we’re sending him on loan.
