Which is great news. Because it means he can concentrate on resting body and mind in the summer, then banging a few in in pre season, then firing us up the table next season
Hopefully. He has shown he is a quality centre forward. Slightly concerned he isn’t RDZ’s type of centre forward. Maybe that’s part of the problem this season. A fit and firing Evan Ferguson would massively upgrade us next season. And if that happens we are back into silly money territory.

We have to be patient. Ferguson is learning from a perfect role model in Welbeck, AND he will get game time with the Republic or Ireland. I think RDZ has been fair with him.

I think it will also help when Moran comes back in the summer and when O'Mahoney steps up to the senior squad as Evan will be leader of the Irish group.

Service helps and Mitoma being out injured affected his service.
I see this posted a lot but I'd like to know the actual stats of Mitoma assists on Evan's goals. A lot of his goals come from finishes from the edge of the box. He's a natural finisher, has the knack for finding the bottom corner. I don't remember him scoring from that many crosses, from Mitoma crosses or whoever.

He covers a lot of ground, has a good touch and defends well from the front. I don't see anything that makes him not RDZ's type of centre-forward. For example, he has better attributes that Everton's non-scoring international beanpole.
In the last 3 months he has regularly come deep to link up play, a lá Kane, but hasn't received the service when getting in the box.

I wasn't thinking of crosses but when Mitoma gets to the byline and puts in a short pass. Welbeck making runs to open up space from defenders also helps. There's more to assists than crosses.

Warren Aspinal can be a bit Marmite but I think he's spot on re Evan - he drops too deep at times, a lot of the time he's not actually in the box when the ball could go in. In his defence though I was ewatching him 1st half re Everton and he kept trying to run in behiind but the pass didn't come, worst culprit most of the time was Pascal, which is surprising because it's not like he can't see or pick a through ball.

Well he’s had very few starts.
There a few factors at play there but it’s hardly a massive stretch to say one factor maybe that the manager isn’t entirely convinced atm.
As to whether he’s better than Calvert-Lewin, or whoever, that’s a different debate. FWIW I thought he looked the business last season. To quote Ally McCoist “he really did”. This season hasn’t been great. That’s ok though. He’s young.

Nice one here.

And that assist of the season here

I don't think the way he's playing currently Arsenal will offer 70/80m

Maybe they realise potential but believe they can get a cut price deal with loss of form and a bit of agent pressure to destabilise Evan (see Caicedo/Trossard)

Gykores has a 100m euro release. So unless Sporting budge they won't pay that and he's not proven at this level.
You could argue Ferguson is less of a risk as he’s played in the Premier League. Gykores might not make the level. And his £100m price tag may make Ferguson a ‘cheaper’ more viable option

In your scenario there I'd be inclined to think that the run was wrong rather than the pass not being played. one of Gross's best attributes is knowing when and who to play a pass to. Especially when the players like Dunk and Gross etc have said the same thing about RDZ's coaching, that it's drilled into them what pass they should play and when.

I didn't say I knew any other names, I just said if he's worth 70 80mill I would drive him to that club that's offering, as he looks totally out of form and body language is not great.
You said "he most certainly isn't" when I said he's one of the best young strikers in the world. I just assumed you would know at least one or two to make such a strong response.

So your post is based on absolutely nothing, good job.

It looks like Mitoma has provided the assist 4 times for Evan, which is the most by any player.

Last Season

Stoke (a) - FA Cup
Southampton (h) - Evans second goal of the game

This season
Newcastle (h) - 3rd goal

Other assist providers are as follows

Gilmour - Newcastle (h 23/24 second goal)

Mac Allister - Southampton (h 22/23, 1st goal), Grimsby (h 22/23 - FA Cup 1st Goal)
Deniz Undav - Grimsby (h 22/23 - FA Cup 2nd Goal)

Surely actually providing evidence to back up an opinion is a banning offence on NSC?
