[Albion] Evan Ferguson **Loaned to West Ham 03/02/2025**

That's bollocks. He is a Forest fan so what do you expect.
Thanks to an insane starting 11 and then multiple individuals having complete nightmares we basically blew ourselves away, I didn't think that Forest actually played that well, had they done.......
So................tactics then? Fab said the tactics were good enough to win the game(he felt). It was down to the players?😅😅

Stuart Pearce on TS this am. Brighton played quite well but Forest just blew them away!
I tend to agree with him. It was a Perfect Storm game for Forest, everything they tried came off, they had luck, we in contrast had none. We were still in that game at 3-1, having conceded a jammy OG until Welbeck had no luck with the ball that came off the keeper’s glove, bounced onto the crossbar and down onto the line.

Whatever the reasons for Baleba and Ayari missing I suggest that completely f***ed us over.

Heads dropping after the Welbeck miss was a big disappointment to me.

It was never a 7-0 game, just one of those bad days at the office that all teams have during a season.

I was annoyed about this loan at first but meh.

It makes sense for him to go out on loan in a team that will use him and our season is effectively over.

Hopefully Ferguson will be reignited in our team and competing with Tzimas under a new manager next season.
And better than him leaving permanently, which is what I feared.

The problem with this is that if he develops and improves, he'll be off (assuming his dream is Bayern Munich) - and a manager isn't like a player where we at least make a bag of money to reinvest.

£20m compensation for Potter, and £5m for RDZ even though he no longer worked for us means we do make decent money if our managers leave. If FH ends up being decent and is poached by someone like Bayern I imagine his contract has a decent release clause in it, especially considering we would have paid some compensation to St Pauli to get him.

I'm a bit divided about this. We were undoubtedly the better team until they scored (their first attack and a flukey OG). However for the rest of the match they created loads of clear chances and could have scored more than seven. We had loads of possession and were a little unlucky not to score, but that's about it.

I really don't consider myself Team Fab - he's been decent by my standards but certainly has room for improvement - but every new post I read talking confidently about the new manager we'll supposedly have come the summer makes me just that bit more partisan.

I'd say I hope we qualify for Europe so that the Fab Out crew have to eat their words (and of course because it would be brilliant for the club). But they'd probably dismiss the performances that got us there as unconvincing and keep harping on about the points we dropped ("we could have finished even higher if not for the Wolves and Leicester games FFS") as though the bar is an Invincibles season.

Some fair points there. Having come after two managers that had us fighting for Europe has warped expectations for Hurzeler. For instance the fan base wasn't this toxic when Potter had us hovering around 15th compared to where we are now.

The dropped points argument is also silly because we've gained points in many games we didn't really deserve to. We are mid table because we are a mid table team.

Questions need to be asked about Hurzeler's incomprehensible tactics, the never ending injury crisis, the fact that we're unable to play well for a whole 90 mins, and the strange recruitment this season. But, having calmed down from Saturday now, I think it's fair enough that he gets until the end of the season - we already have enough points to be safe.

Their keeper made a couple of great saves too if I remember rightly? It was just 1 of them games where nothing goes right and at 4 nil it should've been damage limitation but heads dropped even more. Even Bart gave them a goal to sum it up!

I think Hooper and VAR gave them one too, playing with the ball on the ground, more than once with your hands should have seen that one disallowed imo.

You'd think so. Everything went against us but it doesn't excuse our very poor defending though which, hasn't been great all season. Recruitment has to take some responsibility as well as the players (which they have) so its not all on Fabian.

They also had at least 3 shots that missed the upright by less than a foot. 7 was an absolutely fair score, and could very very easily have been 10 or more. If you play 1 CDM up against their 3 pacey CMs, and then you play tight narrow FBs giving them both flanks free to roam, cut in, and square for tap ins, then you will concede a lot of goals. Formation, deployment and tactically, this was a disaster class, and asked if in hindsight if he would do anything different, he said “no”. Should have been 10, and the bloke is clueless.

FH poached by Bayern?!!! I can’t imagine a club like that even think he has the talent to sweep the mud off the dressing room floor.

Yep, fair points. Maybe I was trying to make it look that we ain't that bad with my blue and white specs on, but, it was. Looking back at Chelsea game, we could've conceded 10 that afternoon too. The spurs and City home wins, both sides could've put the game to bed before we improved in 2nd halves.

I hope he's here for next season - that'll be his real test and where the pressure from Tony to deliver will be more significant. This is a 'reset' season for us and was always likely to be.
