A pub landlord has named a race they have sponsored at Newton Abbott on Monday the "Well Done England Euro Champions 2024 Handicap Chase". What a tosspot.
There was fan interviewed on the news last who had got a Euros 24 Winners England tattoo done. Prat 🤦‍♂️

England have been simply dreadful. Hard to get up much enthusiasm for the borefest football they've produced so far. Never felt so disinterested as I have this tournament. However a few pints of Camden Hells & a victory tonight & i'm sure I'll change my tune like a typical football fan!

I believe we do, but ITVs coverage has been better than the beeb this tournament, so I for one am glad about it.
I don't really bother engaging too much with the pre, mid and post match punditry. - it's just 'on' in the background. But when it's ITV, I do get fed up of Mark Pougatch NEEDLESSLY SHOUTING at his studio guests. Just speak normally, ffs, you bellend.

EDIT
Plus, I don't like the way ITV seem to have forgotten to include chairs in the budget, so they have to stand behind a counter, like they're working in the Co-op or something? Bizarre.

Well, I do support England but I also think we’ve been average at best and desperately poor at worst throughout the tournament. We haven’t really beaten anyone of note, and tonight is our first test against a traditional good side.

I’ll be cheering us on, but realistically we’re going to have to completely change almost every aspect of our play, or try and bring the Dutch down to our level. I think it’ll be the latter and time will tell if it pays off.
Funny how when beat teams it is them not being of any note. Even if we were to beat Holland and Spain someone will be saying that we were lucky to play them on an off day.

If we can still win, despite that players not playing to their expected potential, then someone must be doing a very good job. I'd much rather this than being knocked out in the first round, or not even getting to the finals.

Brighton factually.....
I really do not know what to expect tonight, obviously I would like England to win, however I do find Southgate's approach frustrating and at times infuriating. I do not find myself looking forward to England games anymore, he lost me back in the final against Italy, but he has managed several times now to beat low ranked teams, top every qualifying group and take England to respectable finishes I guess at the World cup final and Euros again, but there is just something missing an attacking flare which we know squad players have in an abundance but it simply not constant enough when we turn up at the finals. I am not sure if it is my expectations being unrealistic because at this level teams are far more difficult to break down and can hurt you on the break so quickly we would simply get picked off or Southgate is not utilising or picking the best squad, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Come kick off, I will be hoping we win, and kicking every ball, pointing out to the family where the ball should be played next, tutting at a stray pass, screaming at the telly when I think we need to make a substitute and what the hell is Southgate still doing in this job, I also know, I will be beaming with pride and telling the family I never doubted his tactics as we scrape through on penalties.

But that is being a football fan of one the worst nations you could support, a country full of pride, talent and best of all were a nation of self deprecating idiots.

I’m quite excited for this match, I predict that excitement will turn into frustration and disappointment once the whistle is blown, but I’ll keep this current positivity while it lasts.

not been on an England thread for a while but fantastic to see that we still lack support on here despite being in the semis.

Funny old crowd

Bring it on tonight. Come on the boys
We alll want England to win but just as much would like to play with some flair. However compared to Spain and Germany we have looked boring. I am still of the opinion if we win it is despite Southgates imput not because of it. Also with our style of play dont think it has helped Southgates chances of getting a top club job.

Southgate will be lucky to get a job in League 1

And a lot of League 1 teams play great looking football so he would struggle there as well

Maybe if we get more than 1 shot on target we have an outside chance tonight.
Really hoping, but Southgate is like a huge anchor and chain dragging us back.

Has there even been such a big England game with so little excitement. We put some England flags up at the start of the tournament for the kids really but I have only seen one other flag up where we live. Today at work not one person has mentioned the game, almost forgot it was on.

Can't beat Guy Mowbray on BBC. But then I'm biased as he's a fellow Iron Maiden fanatic to the extent that they were his specialist subject on celebrity Mastermind! punk::rock:

Not feeling confident at all after our 'displays' at this tournament, but something in the back of my head is still telling me we're going to win. Weird situation.
