There are many reasons I don't gamble for money, and my compulsive personality is 90% of that, but this sort of moral dilemma takes up most of the other 10%Me too but I'd rather the person with England get the big money.
No. I’m saying that Southgate has been lucky with various decisions going in his favour. In my opinion, he is a mediocre manager who has benefited from this as well as the incredible squad of players he has at his disposal.and so every manager since Alf Ramsey up to Southgate were all unlucky?
Maybe we are just realistic enough to describe what we see in front of us a d not get caught up in the nationalistic hype. And to our past failures. But only English people engage in self loathing of national achievements to the degree we do. Maybe it’s the weather. Or listening to bitter Jocks and Taffs too much. Regardless, every team I’ve every seen win something has been ‘lucky’ so it’s nice to recognise we can be too.
I agree with this, winning teams need some sort of luck. Southgate has achieved an incredible feat but I’m not convinced that he is an incredible manager that some people think he is.Regardless, every team I’ve every seen win something has been ‘lucky’ so it’s nice to recognise we can be too.
Spot on! It was a very good performance especially in 1st half where England really deserved to be out of sight despite the contentious penalty going our way. We battered them without scoring apart from pen. 2nd half the Dutch changed and nullified us but a super finish to deservedly put us in final. Bit of luck also needed before the winning goal as Holland should've had a corner but but goal kick given which took us up other end to score the winner! We deserved to win that. We bossed them in the first half, especially in midfield, they had their moments in the second half, but we brought on the perfect sub to stretch them late on, and to get a glorious late winner, so late that they couldn't recover. Well done England.
Absolutely. Anywhere else that's a foul. Late with foot well off the ground and contact made with the player after the ball has gone. Foul and yellow card. Easy to spot with VAR and easy for a ref to miss from behind in real time.I'm a bit perplexed regarding the penalty - And I think I'm the minority - How can it NOT be a penalty? I haven't listened to the punditry but it appears to fall in to the category of 'anywhere else on the pitch' no argument but not a penalty?!?
They both go for the ball and Harry kicks Van Dijks feet as much as Virgil kicks Harry.I'm a bit perplexed regarding the penalty - And I think I'm the minority - How can it NOT be a penalty? I have the entirely opposite opinion. Both players went for the ball, Kane got there first then there was contact. Not a foul imo, funny old game isn’t it. I’d be fuming if we conceded a pen like that.I'm a bit perplexed regarding the penalty - And I think I'm the minority - How can it NOT be a penalty? If it was the other way round would we say it was a pen? The answer would be an overwhelmingly no.I have the entirely opposite opinion. Both players went for the ball, Kane got there first then there was contact. Not a foul imo, funny old game isn’t it. I’d be fuming if we conceded a pen like that.
Brilliant isn't it - It's probably why it's pointless debating decisions sometimes, we can't even agree what a foul isI have the entirely opposite opinion. Lazarus like recovery from that broken foot thoughI have the entirely opposite opinion. Both players went for the ball, Kane got there first then there was contact. Not a foul imo, funny old game isn’t it. I’d be fuming if we conceded a pen like that.
It was Dumfries. They both go for the ball and Harry kicks Van Dijks feet as much as Virgil kicks Harry.
Not wrong to give a penalty but these situations end up in nothing most times.
