And so he should. We won, that’s all we wanted. If we get beat by the Swiss then it’s down to Southgate- if we win it’s down to Southgate. Bottom line is, if we end up winning this thing, the first big prize since 66, then we won’t give a shit about how. We’ll just be happy with “England” engraved on the trophy.
He just got extremely lucky. He never coached bellingham to do that, bringing on Toney with 2 minutes to go and him making an impact was luck not genius. the only reason we are through is because we have the easier side of the draw and we relied on a generational talent and one of the best finishers in the business. We are far less than the sum of our parts. Weve never had so much talent in the side yet we play with tactics that were last used in the early 2000s because thats all the waistcoat knows. He has managed in an era when the balance of power in football has changed, the stronger nations have all gone through massive changes but weve not taken advantage of that, preferring to use out of form players, squeezing players in to positions they dont normally play and he even turned up to this tournament not knowing his best side and playing TAA as a midfielder. I wont be singing his praises if by some miracle we end up winning the Euros. We would have done it despite him being the manager, not because he is.

And a lot of Brighton fans have either forgotten or never known that was Fati before the first serious injury.

Hopefully Yamal can stay fitter, because he’s incredible to watch and because I have a big soft spot for FCB.

Bellingham's seemingly riled at the crowd goal celebration? A retort to those who've been negative about him or the squad performances?

cast your minds back to the champions league final 1999, Man Utd were awful for 90 minutes but scored 2 injury time goals to snatch a win they didn't deserve. but people say things like "Fergie Time" and call him a genius, yet Southgate does more or less the same thing but he's clueless?

You don't find it odd fans would jeer and throw objects at a manager after we just won the group?

With Rodri and Williams playing, this must be the most Welsh-sounding Spain team ever
Serg-boyo Ramos playing?

They play like a team, England look like a group of players that have been forced together and look lost because the coach is a bit shit.
Spain beat mighty Georgia so suddenly they are Brazil 70 reincarnated

Ferguson had won three English doubles at that point on top of two European Cup Winners Cups. Southgate has won nothing ever with anyone. He's a total footballing fraud who's been found out big time.

Sir Alex has won 40 odd trophies as a manager, that’s why he’s called a genius.

He needs to work on his finishing but otherwise is extremely well developed at his age.

If Yamal would have Fati's finishing he would be just about the best 16 year old player I've ever seen.

These two are so much fun to watch.

Probably won't be able to afford Nico Williams but if there is any chance would love to see them play together at club too.

I doubt Spain will go past Germany, defense is suspense imo. Should definitely be a great game though.

For me this team is still a work in progress and need to get more experienced. Surely there are some older (by age) players and they all play in good clubs but not many have played in big international tournaments before. Which will be important from now on.

Would expect this team to improve until WC 2026 but they should really build towards home WC in 2030. They should integrate players like Pedro Porro and Cubarsi to defense, hopefully Gavi will return from injury and won't go down the same road as Fati and then maybe someone like Samu Omorodion (unless he joins Chelsea, then his career is basically over, lol) as a #9 for future. Morata is just too inconsistent and also getting old.

Seriously? Fergie won the Scotch title with Aberdeen and then headed south to turn Manure into the best team in England. If they didn't play well for 90 minutes of that match, that doesn't suddenly make him a bad manager. They weren't doing well, he fixed it, and they won. Not only the CL, but many domestic titles.

And that was against Bayern. Today we were playing against Slovakia. They have nothing like the wealth of talent to choose from that Southgate has. Southgate has proven himself time and time again to be a below average manager.

As a BHA and England supporter of Slovak parentage I'm not sure what to think after that game. I should have been happy whichever team won, but strangely disappointed from both sides' perspective

So you're a glass half empty kinda guy.

Really? Fair do’s, I thought he was below average and never had control of the midfield. He was unlucky with his shot off the post, but he made a number of mistakes and was very sideways and backwards in neutral zones. Sorry, I thought he was so-so at best.

Our best players were Mainoo, Eze and Palmer but nobody was great. It was a very, very poor showing with few positives other than the victory itself

They have a 100% record at the euros having won against Italy and Croatia in the process. Suggesting they might be better than England is appropriate don’t you feel?
