I'm not sure, but England may have already qualified for the last 16 now.

Makes a mockery really. I've not been following it much and will probably start do so when it gets to the last round of matches and the 16s.

I think they should either have 16 qualifiers or 32. It's nonsense that a team that finishes third goes through with potentially 2 points.

Yup, its not great. Reducing it to 16 would be the most sensible but can't see that happening.
32 is... a lot. There's 55 UEFA nations. Five of them (San Marino, Andorra, Gibraltar, Malta, Andorra) shouldn't ever qualify for anything. Another six nations (Moldova, Faroe Islands, Lithuania, Estonia, Lithuania and Cyprus) wouldn't be able to do anything. And then there's Belarus, Azerbajian and a few others that produce a couple of good footballers now and then but...

Quality would be ok with 32 teams but the qualifiers would be entirely pointless.
Great to see a referee give a yellow card for a dive. Player had a yellow in a previous game so doesn't learn.
PL refs please note.
Love a card for a dive but that one was a little weird as he had little chance of standing up when he tripped on the player (after the defender had won the ball fairly).

Turkey playing with that high backline against Portugal is really really brave. Its not very good though.

Why do players always go down clutching their shin even if the contact is on the toe or the back of the leg?

It does feel that way. The case of going all the way until they meet a team that's good.

That said, England always have an outstanding game in the tournament at some stage. Normally just the one. So who knows, the agony might continue till the semi-final

Belgium already a goal up

Been thinking, how nice is it to have a proper summer tournament again? Not COVID-restricted or some winter nonsense where it’s cold and dark. Been fabulous.

Yeah, it's brilliant. So many great games too - apart from ours - including tonight so far.
