Very interesting games today. Particularly looking forward to the first one and hope we get to see a bit of the Georgian flair from the qualifiers.

Yep.

Turkey vs Portugal looks a belter too (though a draw might suit both a little too much)

3 potentially excellent games, though I'll probably get to watch none of them :lolol:

This is shaping up to be another blood and thunder affair involving Georgia, good stuff so far

Georgia have a tremendous turn of foot on the break. Living a charmed life at the back also. Could they maybe get something out of this? 😄

More action in first half stoppage time than the whole second half of England Denmark the other day

Handball laws are beyond a joke.
But in the half time discussion, I had to ask you about the handball rule, I then had to ask someone else the same.

Whether the laws are a joke, the law must be well known by now, a goal can not be scored if it comes off the scorers arm or hand.

Really time for pundits to be given a test on the laws of the game before being allowed to be in front of a camera.

I have an issue with the different interpretations of the handball rule, dependant on the player's role at the point of contact.

I have an issue with this ‘unnatural position’ thing. Football is a game where your arms are naturally away from your body a good deal of the time and I really struggle with some of the decisions. The player who conceded the penalty was pulling his arm back towards his body and the ball came through a line of players. Did not justify a pen imo.

Some parts of the handball rule are in dire need of simplification, but the one today is pretty simple: you're not allowed to score a goal with your hand. Doesn't matter if intentional or not, you can't score with your hand. :shrug:

I've seen* Adam Lallana score those.

* = I haven't, but you get the gist

Love this group, Turkey/Georgia is probably my favourite game of the tournament so far, and this wasn't far behind. 100% adrenaline, hearts on their sleeves, reminds a lot of watching AFCON games. Very doubtful that either team can make it far in the tournament (would be positively surprised) but they've made their fans proud.
