Thanks. I must be a seriously boring person as I found that interesting! I thought I'd heard Austria were likely opponents but clearly they're not, they're just one of many.

For England, there are 16 possible R16 opponents at the moment. In short:
Finish 1st, play 3rd place team from group D, E or F*.
Finish 2nd, play winner of Group A.
Finish 3rd & go through, play winner of group E or F*.

*which one depends on which groups the four 3rd place teams come from. There are 15 possible combinations of 3rd place groups.

There is that, however there were a few times where he was rather static and wasn't making runs behind/around. Had he done that, he would have got some service. i.e. he wasn't exactly pro-active....

Austria looked a good side and as potential Round of 16 opponents for England I would be worried if we had to face them.

England fans crapping themselves over Austria.With the attacking talent in the England squad they should be battering teams like Austria. Unfortunately Southgate isn’t brave enough.
For an example imagine RDZ managing that squad it would be insane football.

Sort of agree, and it could be fine against Austria, but “insane football” is doing some heavy lifting here. I think he showed at Roma away he can come unstuck playing the wrong type of insane football too.

Bit late, but no harm in you trying a Euros fantasy thread. Worse that can happen is that everyone ignores it.

I'm on Dream Team Euros though, so not quite relevant to me.

Spent weeks getting used to to the UEFA definition of 'Matchday' so bit jarring seeing it abused here. But I'll live.
