Welp, game over due to appalling defending by Croatia.

I don’t back us to keep clean sheets to be honest, we aren’t great at the back at all. Our plan should be to go out and attack direct and fast and get the ball to our creative players. But under Southgate we pass it sideways and backwards “continental style” like some relic of 90’s Italian football.

I like Ian Wright, he’s spot on pointing out what @Swegulls says above - they go direct down the wings and it’s really effective. Wish England did that to be honest, we’ve got the players for it too

So far we have learned:

spain are very good- no surprise there
Germany are very good - no surprise there

swiss look a decent side

Scotland are not very good( I would say shite but my son in law and future son in law are both jocks so don’t want to diss their nation )
hungary look compact but toothless
croatia lack a bit of oomph. ( second half will be a bit damage limitation)
