I'm not sure why I should be empathetic to said Premier League season ticket holder who also "can't afford Christmas", whatever that means.

TBH i find it hard to.believe we even have Premier League season ticket holders so close to the breadline they can't afford the expense, and it's just the usual club bashing.

I'm sure there's a load of people who have had to give up their tickets because they can't justify such a frivolous expense, fans for whom I have the up most sympathy.

The 'i can't afford Christmas and an extra payment on top of my premier League season ticket' brigade, you're right my cup doesn't runth over with empathy.

Wow. Imagine being a family of 4 STHs and having just unexpectedly forked out for a new boiler. I don't think there's been much club bashing, just a bit of minor upset about Christmas cashflow issues !

I get that it can be a struggle, at this time of year. However, whether its over the christmas period or immediately after in January it makes little difference to that - 6 pints of beer saved in the period pays for the ticket. As for the price, the three match pack was an astonishingly good deal, basically extending the season ticket prices for matches. I would have been gobsmacked if that was repeated for individual matches and the prices quoted are decent. This is a top European competion - its going to get more expensive.

Chatting to an Arsenal mate after the match on Sunday - he pays over a grand for his season ticket in the cheaper area. It's not even his - he's been on the waiting list for 8 years. It's his brothers son's ticket - but Arsenal dont sell concessions in the area they are in so that would have been over a grand for a kids ticket, hence him picking up the cost That's the reality of the commerical situation we are now in regarding our peers. I detest the commercialisation of our success but it is unavoidable it seems. Shit but unavoidable. But these tickets aren't an example of that - the club could have charged £50+ for a Eurp last 16 and sold them easily, so I'm still seeing it as a great deal.

The fact that you assume everyone buys just ONE ticket speaks volumes.

And, no, there's little difference between the Christmas period (on-sale date) or "immediately after in January" (off-sale). That's the frigging point!

Fair enough. I guess we all react to these things based on our personal experiences, which is why I rant over certain shitty behaviour from the club.

I'm perhaps being as blinkered as those thinking I'm talking shite when i get pissed off with things, so I'll leave it there I reckon
