[Albion] ***Europa League Group Stage Draw - Official Thread***

It is a tough group, I don't want to downplay that. But we have the kind of team that can give Man City a tough game a few weeks after getting tonked by Sean Dyche's Everton.

None of these teams are likely to be playing Dyche-ball. With the possible exception of AEK (who I don't know enough about to comment on), they'll be playing the kind of football that RDZ loves to play against. I think we'll be alright.

i would have been dissapointed to have got West Ham or Liverpools group.

Ours is dynamite, and these teams will come at us which is perfect.

Not sure if this is an odd question, so please don't crucify me... but is there much point in going to an away game for a short trip without a ticket? I confess that there's a good chance I'll go to at least one even if I can't get tickets. mainly because I promised my other half that we could use the draw as a sort of random trip allocator, and use it as an excuse to have a few days away. But apart from that domestic political reason, I'm wondering why it might be better watching the game in a packed bar in say Athens rather than at home in Sussex in front of a very big TV screen with a couple of mates and a ready supply of beer and snacks -- especially if you're planning to fly in and out the same day, or one overnight. Is it just the "I was there" thing? No criticism intended, just genuinely curious.

Ajax and Marseille easily doable by train so no panic if flights fill up. Both also served from multiple UK airports. Athens doable from Gatwick, Luton, Stanstead and Heathrow, mix of cheap and more business focussed airlines. BA from Heathrow for the totally randomly selected date of 9 November is £234 pp return.

I guess people's penchants for cheaper / more expensive travel will depend on how many of the three they intend on doing. Ajax is my current preferred of the three but would be ok with the other two, just got to take care of yourself and don't trust the local OB.

No doubt Seagull Travel will do some charter stuff too.

Seagull Travel have already announced that they've teamed up with a local air charter company, and will also be running coaches to/from Gatwick.

I feel the same. I have no inclination to travel to Europe without a ticket.

Many years ago, when I was working, a group from work (not me) used to go to Paris every other year for the Rugby. I thought they had tickets but turned out they didn’t. It was a weekend away and soaking up the atmosphere. Never fancied it tbh but think I might change my mind now!

every point. Soak it all up and be part of it. Even in a bar over there you will still be experiencing something you may not do ever again.

Without a ticket is still very very appealing, will be plenty in same boat so all together in the bars going mad. Its the stuff of dreams
