In 1983, Man Utd got Dukla Prague in the first round of the Cup-Winners Cup, which would have been our draw had Smith scored. Followed by another lowly team who I can't recall.

I thought that was the extent of our European dreams.

But to get this bunch in the group. Blimey!

When do we know the fixture dates?
Don't know, and don't care. Sorry, not saying that 'nastily' it's just that the first team we EVER play in Europe will be one of either Ajax Amsterdam, Marseilles or AEK Athens. Wow. Even a few years ago we'd have been delighted with one of those as a pre-season friendly, let alone as a full-bloodied competitive game.

I am SO pleased with this group. Yeah we might not progress, but at least our first-ever European game will be against a 'proper' team, not some Noddy outfit from some backwater.

One for the ages. Amazing times.

So you don't have to... Current "best prices" out/back the same day. Don't want AEK away on Nov 9th, so that's guaranteed to happen.

Could tickets be available in the home end for these away fixtures or is that not advisable? I have bought tickets from touts for England games in the past but obviously not for our club.

It depends how much you think those prices will go up.

You can go on BA now and reserve all of them for all of the dates for 72 hours for £5pp. So by doing that today, before the fixtures are out, it will cost you 18 x £5 each but for that you can guarantee you will only pay the current price before it goes up later on and will waste 15 x £5 each to do it, being the options that you wouldn’t ultimately take up. Worth considering if you think you’ll go anyway with or without a ticket?

Home & Away matches will be amazing. Amazing group. A.E.K away will be nuts, their ultras will put on a show like you've never seen before.

Who the holy hell writes on the fold of an envelope, you could have started a good 10mm further to the left and got them in, poor effort.

I would not advise that especially in Marseille, that will be one horrible away fixture for some fans, they have a habit of attacking anyone.
