English clubs would be banned from European competition for 5 years.Shocking. The Italian Disease. Imagine if in 2023 English supporters tried to attack a UEFA ref.

Delighted Seville won! (we know what you mean)Mourinho is an absolute disgrace, total ****.
His actions have led to this. The behaviour of him and his bench on Wednesday was ridiculous, it’s a pre-planned tactic they use every match to intimidate the officials. Taylor actually did well in a really difficult match and if anything, Roma got the benefit of some decisions.
**** Mourinho should look at himself and his pathetic tactics that meant his team stopped playing after they scored. Delighted Roma won.
Yeah exactly, completely out of order. And everyone over here (besides the idiots who did it and their friends I guess) condemns them as well. I hope they find out who they are and punish them, because that's not acceptable. Obviously if by chance you meet the ref at the airport right after the match you're gonna feel annoyance or even anger, but you should have enough self-control to behave like a civil person.Rotterdam, 1993, Netherlands 2-0 England - total wrong'un of a German referee in Karl-Josef Assenmacher, should have sent off Koeman and was hated here - he didn't get stick like that though. Bang out of order.
Mourinho’s actions have contributed to this.
Good point, edited!Delighted Seville won! (we know what you mean)

Season-long ban IMO.I can't see how UEFA can be expected to sanction Roma for an incident that took place at an airport.
What needs to happen in my view is:
The trouble makers should be identified, prosecuted and details forwarded to Roma
Roma should be ordered to ban those people for 5 years
Jose Mourinho should have a 15 match touchline ban for his disgusting behaviour during the game and his hounding of the referee after the game.
It should be a stadium ban and at least 15 matches. Pathetic from Jose.I can't see how UEFA can be expected to sanction Roma for an incident that took place at an airport.

Classless prick
Don't think anyone said that, did they?Quick reminder that our own manager saw a red card during a game that was so badly refereed that we got an official apology. What would have happened if RDZ had found himself face to face with Attwell straight after the game or if Attwell had to go home on public transport via Seven Sisters tube? There were people sending him death threats on the Sunday.
We're far too quick to delve into black and white when it comes to refereeing IMO. Of course Maureen's reaction is wrong and the actions of the Roma fans is appalling. That should 100% be dealt with by long bans for both. But let's not put ourselves in a position where refs are not allowed to be criticised. Attwell's performance, and that of his VAR, were the equivalent of a player scoring a hat trick of own goals and spending all game jogging and walking instead of sprinting. It's going to get noticed.
Plenty online saying he was attacked because of criticism around his performance. Cause and effect, innit.Don't think anyone said that, did they?
Attacking a ref and his kid at an airport isn't criticism.
There is no set of circumstances that would make me abuse the family (especially a child) of someone who’d pissed me off, however much.Plenty online saying he was attacked because of criticism around his performance. Cause and effect, innit.
I consider myself fairly rational and certainly wouldn't luzz a chair at a young female in an airport with the cameras rolling (or at anyone else, anywhere else) yet the morning after the Spurs game I woke up still convinced we'd been deliberately cheated and that the EPL and PGMOL were against us. If I'm still brooding with that level of irrationality 24 hours after a game just think about what a younger, more, er, stimulated fan might do if confronted with Attwell in the immediate aftermath.
Yet the criticism of that performance on here, Twitter et al was 100% justified.
