Best moment, Pedro's winner against Marseilles. Best game AEK away, gritty performance and a terrific atmosphere. Best trip Roma, just a phenomenal and hilarious fours days with my mates.

To be honest I loved it all. Just wish I had enough leave to have made Marseilles. What a fantastic journey.

Self-indulgent Stat:-

My somewhat eclectic highlight from this campaign would be reminding me there's a whole world out there and it's not that scary!
Without realising the negative effect it was having on me, my 'bubble' had become small, very small.

Amsterdam was like putting on an old baggy flannel shirt, but Athens and Rome (esp Athens) was illuminating.

Hopefully I can carpe diem (not my strongest trait) and stretch my wings a little - Porto in September sounds nice.

That and being tear-gassed, come on people it's a memory!

WSU, just below the seagull.
Every single part of this European adventure has been a highlight for me.

Fortunate enough to go to all the away games and did so with a couple of mates from our primary school days back in the 70's.

As you can imagine, we've been through everything following this great club but we've just lived the ultimate dream of seeing our football club take on and beat some of the biggest names in European football history.

Here's to the next time..........................................

I was a little disappointed with the Roma fans, I was expecting noise/pyros etc. Maybe their hard core have travel restrictions..

Overall, Marseille fans I felt were the best at the Amex followed by Athens.

Not a ‘highlight’, but the Athens headed goal was the best I’ve ever seen (with a head)!
Away, the Marseille fans is noisiest, craziest thing I've ever witnessed.

I thought AEK at the Amex were better, and as our first ever European game it was a eye opener.

A "wow, I've never never seen away fans like this" moment.

I've only been an armchair / stream watcher for the European matches. The first game (Athens) was an eye-opener, then we were two down in Marseille, and not looking as though we were really at the races.

Then little Lamptey made that crunching tackle, winning the ball and leaving their guy on the deck, whining. I suddenly thought 'we might be in this after all', a few minutes later we got the first goal back. So - Lamptey's tackle is my rather random highlight!

Seeing Amsterdam awash with Albion fans everywhere. A big old piss up for what felt like the entire fanbase.

And Pedro v Marseille (h). Bedlam. Such a shame it gave us such a tough draw

Tough one!

Marseille I think for a football perspective tops it. That Pedro penalty just made everyone go insane and really quietened the Marseille fans who were deafening for 86 minutes. Plus it was our first European away day and really showed how different away culture is in Europe. Plus, being able to help a fellow NSCer get his glasses and jacket back in the airport and coincidentally flying back to the UK that same weekend made it brilliant.

Amsterdam on a personal level. After spending 9 years in this country being told how great Ajax are and how they are the reason Barcelona are where they are, it felt like redemption in the best way possible. Seeing it live in action in the ArenA couldn't have been better. Only being scammed out of 150€ put a downer on it whilst trying to get tickets for friends, but seeing folks I hadn't seen since I lived in the UK in Amsterdam was amazing whilst the whole city was blue and white.
