Whereabouts was this Liverpool supporting workmate from? I suspect the answer will explain Liverpools ticket selling capabilities.

It's always a lot slower when you dont have hordes of half and half scarf wearing daytrippers being bussed in from Birmingham, Oslo, Dublin and Bangalore hoovering up tickets.
Anfield is the definition of a closed shop. I know a number of people who regularly go to matches home and away but not on a ticket under their name. I also know a number of people who would like to go to matches but don’t know the right people. Basically, on Merseyside you have to have the right mates to get the chance to watch your team. It would be the same at Brighton if our club allowed it like Liverpool do.

Correct. Liverpool FC would probably be sued, persecuted, picketed, boycotted, etc, etc if they ever tried to introduce a fairer system.

Anyone being charged the wrong price category for their seat when buying Europa Pack (e.g. £100 instead of £85)?
I found that when you select the ticket you want it displays one price, then when you proceed to the 'Buy' page it adjusts downwards to the price originally advertised. Maybe just a bit of flakey coding on the website/app?

Just got mine: no queue to log on and I'm staggered at the price - £55 for three tickets is a give-away. I bet the away ones won't be that cheap

It's all getting real now

He comes from Chester area but has lived west of London for years. I'm guessing he obviously doesn’t have a network of contacts in Liverpool.

This is true. I have a (proper) Liverpool supporting mate who had a season ticket at Anfield for years. He was at Hillsborough etc, was at our win in the cup there in 83. He moved down South a few years ago so had to give up his season ticket and now has to enter a ballot to get a home ticket. He hasn't been successful once in the last two years. He started taking his kid to the Amex to see some live football a couple of years ago and has since become hooked on the Albion and is now a season ticket holder. Said he had 'very mixed feelings' after watching us dismantle Liverpool 3-0 last year.

He's so disillusioned with Liverpool and the way they do things that I don't think he's far away from completely giving up on them. He always talks about how good Brighton are as a club to their fans when compared to Liverpool. His boy is definitely going to end up a proper Brighton fan at least, even if he clings on to Liverpool in some capacity. I think we've picked up loads of fans like that in the last few years. Palace might mock us for it and call them plastics, but it's just jealousy- I can't imagine anyone switching allegiance to them somehow.

So if I do nothing my seat will be free and I can choose another on the 18th? I don’t need to say I don’t want it?

(I’m in the front so have the higher sign)

Can I select package seats for me and jnr (also an adult) and later transfer his to one of my Albion + pals as jnr will likely be out of the UK during November. Thanks.

No.

No idea what games either of us can make and will be a bit rubbish if we have to ”throw a ticket away” rather than share within family as we normally do but what choice do we have? Tickets bought. :)

I'm with you as it seems quite insane I can watch my beloved club in Europe for the first time in its history for just over £18.33 a game !!
