No surprise it was our refs that took an age with VAR but the on field decision was offside and I don’t think our VAR would overturn it. Maybe if their had been a different nationality in the VAR room they may have asked the referee to review his original decision.

Once they gave it as offside and obviously deemed the Dutch player to be interfering I thought they was no chance VAR would change the decision
Appalling decision. That was a goal whether the Dutch player was there or not. Attwell is utterly and totally useless.

And there we have it. Surprise, surprise, I disagree wildly with Atwell. Who thinks that it should have been the on-field ref that makes the decision by looking at the screen? Note, this will slow the game down.
But in this instance, the on-field decision was no goal. Therefore, the VAR would only ask the referee to look at the screen if they thought a possible error had been made (ie, the goal should stand).

Although it took way too long to reach the decision, I don't think there were any grounds for advising Taylor to go to the screen (if Atwell agreed with the on-field decision of no goal).

But Attwell should not have agreed with the onfield decision. The keeper was not affected in the slightest.

Don't think it has lived up to my expectations. Most of them are too keen on blowing the whistle.

Another problem is that the DSC need some sort of update. A lot has happened since it was introduced and the ref occupying the zone between CB and RB is quite simply blocking one of the main passing spaces of modern football. They're essentially covering space for the defending team. Hope it gets looked into because the ball hitting the ref 2-3 times per game isn't optimal.
