You often get someone unexpected going on to be top scorer at these things, rather than the obvious (Torres, Henry, etc).

Toto Schillaci, Davor Suker, Hristo Stoichkov, Oleg Salenko, Miroslav Klose, Milan Baros and Savo Milosevic have all won the golden boot at major international tournaments since 1990.

PS: Toni is also in the so called group of death, and Italy aren't renowned for scoring lots of goals.

I reckon a German is a better bet, being as they're amongst the tournament favourites, and have scored plenty in qualifying. Klose has form in big tournaments, see previous post, Podolski has done well for them before, and maybe have a look at Mario Gomez, who's not that well known in the UK, but seems to have started well in his first few games for Germany.

Or just go for a donkey like Milan Baros, crap in the Premier League but inexplicably scores plenty at international level (see also Milosevic, Savo; Tomasson, Jon Dahl)

del piero is a top top bet at 50's or whatever you can get.

I like benzema and fell he could be the business in this tournament ......but henry and ruud are very good odds for what they normally achieve

Three of those players are in the same group.
So one of them will get no more than three games, tops.

If the two qualifiers get to the semi-finals they play again (UEFA!!!!), so only one of the three Group of Death players will get to the final (if any).

I wouldn't bet on them - you'd need some 4-4 draws in Group C.
Like someone else said - it's usually someone weird that ends up scoring the most.

66/1?!?

I know the Italians aren't traditionally high scorers but they have the potential to go all the way and it's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility to see the great Alessandro see out his international career with a proper Bobby Dazzler

What odds can you get on Ballack? He's in brilliant form at the moment and I think he's still Germany's main penalty taker.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar at 33's has something like 7 goals in 11 caps. I also fancy Holland to go well even though there in the group of death.

He's a great finished (Europe's best?), but he'll not get many minutes with Ruud horseface preferred to him.
