What a shithouse for the first 118 minutes, but then well what drama.

Pleased for the Turks, defying the odds. Can they do it against the Germans?

Oh, and I did say they'd win :)

Turkey were as shite as Alan Shearer's shirt, yet still won! CKR in a semi against the Germans!

Feel a little bit sorry for the Croatians - they must have thought they would win it! Have to say though they kind of brought it on themselves, Turkey clearly aren't the best team in the Quarter finals and if Croatia had actually had the balls to really attack the match from the start, rather than from 85 minutes, in they might have been more than 1 ahead.

I feel sorry for Croatia, they were the better team on the night in terms of going forward.

Can't help but like the Turks though for their never say die spirit. Was well impressed by the sportsmanship of Rustu at the end too.

Really really hope Turkey can dump the Germans out now. And that's nothing personal against Germany 'cos I really liked the way they played in the last world cup, but not this tournament.

Abort, retry, fail
f*** me, Turkey have been ahead for a total of 4 minutes in the whole tournament and made it to the SEMI Final

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Marvellous scenes.

What was refreshing from this game was to see two managers gesticulating, dancing and jumping about. Great entertainment.

Oh and the Windies have beaten the Aussies with guile and flair.

Second time this tournement for me, Robben against the French after Henry had just pulled a goal back the dutch went down the other end and scored!

I thought they said it was on 2 minutes, as both there winners have been in injuary time against the Swiss and the Czech's. Amazeing stuff all the same!

The commentary team kept blithering on about how much better Croatia were, while Turkey kept piling on the attacks, possession, and getting broken down in the final third. So, obviously Turkey were more enterprising, attacking en masse, and leaving space at the back.
They deserved their win, albeit with desperate timing. Croatia depended wholly on Modric, who stood out among a less-than-average team of players - and the commentators crowed about his every touch.

The so-called 'experts' know shite, they talk to suit themselves regardless of what is happening in front of them. Marcus Desailly just said what the others in the tv-room had said, to go along with the crowd of telly-twonks.

It did seem apparent that Croatia rested on defensive absorption until around the last 10 or 12 minutes - for a brief couple of minutes of intent.
I never felt that they wanted it, as much as the Turks.

Luckiest team ever in European Championships?

No, that was Denmark... didnt even qualify and then snicked in the back door because of politics in Yugoslavia. Then go onto win it. Can't be luckier than that!
