etiquette of a somewhat delicate gender type-issue

I've worked with 2 transexuals in the past, both M->F. One of them had a wife and 2 kids. You can bet that they've been through a pretty rough time in their life if they needed to resort to going through this process. Whilst I respect their decision to do what they've done, I can never really understand how it could ever be worth the pain and anguish they've put their families through in order to solve their own problems, and how that would outweigh the option of just living with it.

No doubt the NHS picked up the tab

I guess they would argue that they have a right to be happy too? It's not so different to a married guy finally telling his family he's gay I suppose. You can live the lie, being constantly miserable (and presumably making the family's life miserable too, don't forget) and denying yourself the right to the same normal pleasures and joys as anyone else has. Or you can bite the bullet, tell people the truth, and stop having to sneak around or hide things.

I think you've sort of answered your own question, in that in order for someone to go through the sort of shit you'd have to endure to have a complete gender reassignment, the feeling of being the wrong gender to start with must really be totally all-encompassing, and dominate your every waking thought.

A horrible position to be in, I imagine.

And here I am after the surgery. Amazing what a course of hormones and a quick once over with the scalpel can achieve these days.

Perhaps you should just get on with your job and stop worrying about what other people do with their cocks and fannies.

Well said. Although you do need to be a bit careful - we'll have a transexual hosting Film 2010 next !!!!!!!!!!!

The torch works great, and the outfit is both cool and comfortable.

But the heels are a bastard for chasing villains up stairs in :(

Do the hilarious blokey rugby changing rooms crotch grabbing routine.

If there's nothing there, work hasn't started yet.

If there is, the work is done.

If it comes off in your hand, it needs a few more stitches.
