This still strikes me as completely ludicrous and unnecessary.

The ESU will have to open - that much has been clear for a few days - so why wasn't it opened earlier to give people the choice - upper or lower, central or penalty area?

There's nothing anyone can say to me that will convince me that the approach taken will maximise ticket sales - it can only have lessened them, very probably not by very much at all, but it's not a fan (customer) friendly way to go about things.

After the club was found to be so out of touch with fan sentiment regarding the Palace game, they seem to have taken a knee-jerk reaction to this fixture and shown themselves to be missing a trick again.

If the East Upper opens tomorrow, will this thread continue with people who are waiting for the West Upper to open ? Thread that keeps on giving !

I've a feeling my stubborn desire to sit in the ESU is to be rewarded. Viva la resistance !

Now about 240 left - I reckon ESU will be open for 9am tomorrow.

Only a handful of non-single seats left - all low down towards the SE and SW corners.

Remember kids: "Currently we have some fantastic seating options available"

The club have got this so wrong as they did with the palace game - how can PB say they were surprised at the attendance after setting the tickets at almost double what we've charged before for 3rd round games, gave minimal loyalty points (5) and with it being on a Monday with a proposed rail strike it was always going to be a small crowd. But the Coventry game is completely different, last time we played in the 5th round we were still a championship club averaging a couple of thousand or so less than we do now the crowd v Hull was 21,000 the game was on a Monday night live on tv with only 1000 away fans surely The club must have looked at this and thought with Coventry bringing 4,500 and the game on a Saturday 3pm we should be looking at upwards of 25,000 but in reality now the Amex is full every week we should be looking at selling it out again. I honestly believe we could have done this by having all sections open. As it is we will probably get a crowd of 23-24,000 which is remarkable as considering the best seats are still not on sale with one week to go.
