Little more effort and could've been brilliant.

1. Why no goalie for the England team? They used an Irish winger until he 'broke his arm'. The Germans had Laurie Sivell of Ipswich.
2. Pele's overhead goal should have been the winner instead of pandering to the film star in goal.
3. No substitutes in football at the time yet they bought one on for the first injured player. First subs were in 1965.
4. Could have got all those extras to wear period costumes rather than flared jeans and those with mullets should have slapped on a bit of brylcreem!

Still, all's well that ends well.

Now on to Kelly's Heroes. 'What's with the negative waves Morriaty!!'

I'd like to have a million pounds for every time I watched that film as a kid.

Absolutely terrible film, it has nothing going for it.

Terrible war film and and an even worse football film.

Watched it once when it was on tv for the first time, never again.

Blasphemy. Did you not see the Ossie Ardiles flicks over his head, the Ipswich players at the time. The Allies beating Germany at football? Yeah only Hollywood could make it up.

Every film about any sport is shit. They never get it right and it's all to contrived

Sorry I don't agree, I think "This Sporting life", "Somebody up there likes me" and "Million Dollar Baby" are all excellent films, but maybe not about sport?

Raging Bull, Moneyball and to a comedic extent Dodgeball and Happy Gilmore are all excellent as well.
