Time for his own thread…..

An astonishing 3rd place in Ligue 1 last season with a style very similar to De Zerbi and McKenna. He was given no resources to do this.

Just one season left on his contract over in France.

Before returning to the shop floor, he was Director of Football at Watford when the pandemic hit. This time, there were resources. Spot any familiar names that came through the door when he was DoF?

The problem is that he is a Champions League manager now. So I suspect he would want to run with that.

Tempted to type a lot but will just say yes please. Was top of my list 2 weeks ago, but less realistic sadly than Gallardo who's unemployed (and would still be a dream appointment). Only need one pretty girl to say yes though if you ask them.

Either one of them would get my heart a-flutter

Bring him in!

Or Roy of the Rovers.

Or Roy Strong.

Or Eric Morecambe.

Any of them.

Someone’s requested a bet on him. 28/1 on PaddyPower.

I wonder if enough £££ would convince him to leave the CL football he’s got them into?

I agree that he looks one of the best potential candidates.
The daft thing is, with all due respect to Brest, they probably won't be any more than cannon fodder in the competition anyway.

I suspect the lure of the Premier League outweighs that of even a CL group stage.

And we certainly are a more attractive commodity than Brest*.

(Disappointingly no Finbar Saunders jokes yet).

Win or lose, I'd be pleased if we had a manager whose name made him sound like two supporting characters from an Alan Bennett monolgoue / Alan Sillitoe novel / Episode of 'Whatever Happened to The Likely Lads'.

I’m doing my own Alan Bennett impression of it now! Great spot @Stato - I think with the opposing yes/no views to GP in particular but others too I think someone like this guy would be an interesting choice! Personally I do hope it’s wrapped up with the best available candidate in the next week
