I'm talking about what appeared to be a prolonged level of abuse, by the account I heard. Is it right, no, of course not. Can I understand why he reacted, yes.

This I take personally as I witness it from time to time. I heard a fan at a county level game recently shout "don't let him do that, break his f***ing legs", my Son is 16, I'm never going to allow that to go unchecked, wrong, maybe ..... understandable, probably. Did it make any difference? He stopped shouting it and MAY think twice next time.

I understand your protection of your son. Although what would you do if he was an amazingly gifted lad and was playing at L1 level? Offer out every critic in the ground, or only the 2500 Leeds opposition fans who were calling for his leg to be broken? Once in the big time a player HAS to accept what comes with it.

I don't disagree, but perhaps his Brother has had an ongoing issue and it wasn't being resolved, as I've said it's not right but sometimes we need to stand up for what we feel is right IF the authorities aren't dealing with it.

What an absolute idiot who deserves to have the book the book thrown at him. Getting stick from fans comes with the territory and he is nicely compensated with an absurd salary. If any abuse is racist let the stewards deal with it. As it stands looks like fan gives Dier grief to which his watching brother takes exception to and it goes on from there.

The Racism Claim will be an interesting one if this turns out to be the line that Spurs go down.

That Big ''so called'' Investigation that Spurs did when Roudiger made a claim of Racist Chanting towards him which supposedly turned up nothing. It will be interesting to see if Spurs suddenly come up with something when it is needed to defend ''one of their own''

This!

In a parallel universe maybe the a totemic? Statement should have gone along these lines :

Regardless of the nature of the alleged provocation we would not expect our player to enter the fans area under any circumstances. Even if any abuse aimed at our player was racist or homophobic we would still expect the matter to be dealt with by the appropriate people such as our own security staff and/or police aided by CCTV. On completion of an internal investigation the club will decide if disciplinary action is required. We would also be happy to engage with the FA in any investigation they deem necessary.

Ok, can someone explain this to me - I have seen claims that this was racism towards his brother. Clearly Dier is very white, is his brother, or was the person making the remarks of a different race?
The clips I have seen appear to show a white dude in a red hooded coat, running away! Second, was it for a virtual brother, as I've head mention of Gedson Fernandes being abused. Thirdly, how did he know any of this was going on?

That's the bit that confused me too. How did he know someone was giving his brother grief? (If that is what happened?)
