Executive boxes, presumably.
Another pic of the Riverside:

Clearly not the same as the other three, IMO.

Pride Park and the Riverside were designed by the same architects, The Miller Partnership. They also designed the Walkers, and (yes you've guessed it) St Marys. Thank f*** we didn't go to THEM then.

Incidentally, they started construction of Pride Park in September 1996, and it was opened by the Queen in July 1997. Ten months. Obviously they were building on an industrial estate which made things simpler, but thats still pertty impressive aye.

Although in fairness, Millers also designed the KC Stadium, which I think looks very impressive (not been there yet). I guess it primarily comes down to budget - you want something bog standard like Boro or Leicester then they'll knock you up one of their standard jobbies designed on the back of a fag packet. You want something a bit more iconic and FLAIR, then that comes at a premium.

Great looking stadium, but thats definitely a seat-colouring FAIL.

Re Gay Meadow.I always liked that place, and Shrewsbury is an excellent day out.Similarly,I love a trip to Plainmoor, and clearly real football grounds like these are poorly represented in the top division.

Gotta love Hulls old ground :lolol:

Is that a SUPERMARKET in that stand?

I mean, what kind of SHITTY club would have a supermarket at one end of their ground?

While I loathe the Noddy club that is Milton Keynes, in some respects their stadium is (or at least will be) arguably the best of the flat-pack, identikit places around.

I like the way you come in half way up the stand rather than at the bottom like in most grounds, and can see the pitch (and drink beer) from the concourse. Also like the seats which are at a great height, comfortable and with plenty of legroom.

I don't like the fact that it's not finished, or that from three sides it looks like Meccano, but the frontage and interior bits that are complete are the business. Much better than, say, Southampton and their ugly warehouse of an arena. It's just a shame their fans are total twats.

Have been desperately trying to find a photo of the old Sainsbury's end at Selhurst, but for some reason (shame on the part of Palace?) there doesn't seem to be any on the web anywhere :lolol:

Having said that, Selhurst, while a total dump, and full- OK, make that a third full these days- of gimps, is nonetheless a proper old style football ground. Have I just committed a sin by saying that?

It has sticky-up floodlights that you can see from miles away, it's fairly tight around the pitch, two tall stands that hold the noise in on the rare occasions that Palace actually achieve something worth cheering about, and when I get inside the place it does make me think, yep, I'm in a proper, old fashioned, atmospheric ground.

(Admittedly this is my second thought, several minutes after I've finished thinking how disgusting the toilets are, how crap and slow the turnstiles, what a crumbling embarrassment two of the stands are, and "didn't wooden seats die out after the Bradford fire?", but still, it has a few merits...)

The Championship.
No disrespect to you and others but why do people rate the Galpharm ?
It is four stands each with an arched roof with a patch of grass in the middle.
It is not enclosed the wind whistles through, and in fact the catering concourse behind the away end doesn't even have a roof !

:amex::albion1:

Unless you have not been there then how can you not rate the galpharm?
