Sure you switched off everything cooker/heating and pulled out all the plugs, if its a rented property and no-one else has moved in they may be looking for someone to carry on paying whatever is used, how much do they want?

I think all the big energy companies are as bad as each other. I'm with nPower and they are continuously trying to double or even treble my monthly payments for no apparent reason, luckily I'm pretty savvy at keeping an eye on these things but I'd hate to think how much they screw out of vulnerable old people.

A friend of ours works for UW and gave us quotes a couple of months ago but we couldn't save anything.

Did that include all services or just energy? You can save an additional 10% which you get back after a year on energy if you take out 4 services! Can i ask who you are with for energy and phone/broadband?

That was everything inc cash back card, phone/broadband, energy and mobiles. I'm fairly astute when it comes to saving money so have shopped around in the past for the best comparisons which is why we looked at UW. It worked out the same so not saving anything.

Thats good then as must be astute as normally can save something over the year as most companies are usually expensive or cheap but poor service and reliability

Go with UW mate! Great services but cheaper,all on one simple bill and no contracts! Other ways to save aswell Any questions let me know
