I would suggest that, instead of slagging off players - often without justification - and acting like we've got a divine right to win every game - we accept that we got beaten by a stronger, more experienced and more organised team.

It's not rocket science.
You're right. But it looked like we got beaten by a better manager too tonight ...
... I know that might not prove popular, but compare the shape and defensive formation of the winning team to the one that lost. And it's not as if this is an anomaly.

A brutal view. RDZ’s football requires circa 16 high quality players, with nous, pace and power aplenty in the overall defensive system. I can’t see Bloom delivering that in one transfer window. On that basis, I think it’ll be better for all parties for RDZ to move on.
I so hope you're wrong, but fear you might be right on this.

I no longer hold my nose at the likes of Silva.

We don’t do defence 2023/24, there is zero pragmatism, particularly in relation to an inferior available squad compared to a year ago. A mini case in point was Wolves at home second half, it was clear by 50 minutes that Gary O’Neil and Neto were bossing affairs, yet fck all changed.

When folk reflect on where Albion were, what they have achieved and how well they have done to sustain the level they have, I hope they feel a little bit silly at their raging.

If not, they could always go and support Manchester City or Chelsea. Okay, maybe Chelsea isn't a good idea.

One thing I've never felt is a sense of entitlement. That's why I have managed to shrug my shoulders and say 'never mind' tonight.

Entitlement is about ego and not rational reflection. Once you get rid of such feelings you don't feel angry, upset or frustrated at things that don't matter. And tonight's defeat doesn't matter. Albion is more than results on the pitch. We still had as much joy winning the fourth division, and we still had as much camaraderie when we were stuck in the middle of the third.

If it's all about winning for the ego, try and take up an individual sport rather than supporting a team in another. Don't place your joy in someone else's hands.
Very well said. Wise words. Too many people on here tonight doing all the talking but saying nothing.

I think our approach this season have really f***ed his chances at a club with any serious people at the helm.

It's Chelsea, stay put, or walk away
If he was paying attention to Potters time at the Bridge, he won’t touch them with a barge pole. Unless of course he’s just after hereditary wealth like Potter was.

Of course not but people just need to breathe and offer considered opinions. What fool starts a thread suggesting that the root cause of tonight's defeat was us " forcing " Sanchez out of the club?
But who is more the fool? The fool? Or the fool who follows?

Don't get on peoples case for what they write in comments on the match thread. It's an emotional game and people are attached. I don't post on those while there's a game on ... because i'm watching the game .... but if I did I would struggle to achieve cold light of day, objective analysis

,maybe there will be more season tickets available now, after the plastics throw their toys out of their prams
Long haul means long haul
'Long haul means long haul' is my point but in a slightly different way. Our enjoyment in being Albion fans should never be solely dependent on the results on the pitch.

I was trying to think how to explain it best, but remembered a piece I wrote about the match at Wolves in 2017 when promotion was almost confirmed. For me football is about the relationships we develop off the pitch and the experience more than anything else. On the pitch, Albion have over achieved. There will be triumphs and failures (like tonight). But tomorrow nothing will have changed in our relationship with the club and each other.

The below piece is all the more poignant as my father has now passed on, as indeed others will have done. But it reflects my thoughts better than a quick type here.

Easy to say if you didn't travel. The better you do as a club the more expensive is it to be a fan. If the club are gonna get to this stage, play away in Rome and have 3.5k supporting them at large expense then they need to not lose 4 f***ing nil. Just my view

Roma have a squad of experienced professionals playing for a good manager.

Their forward line are top class.
Ours consisted of 3 U23s and Dat Guy Welbz.

De Zerbi has done miracles with our squad,.
But his style is better suited to a quicker and more experienced squad.

I did shout just before half time, oh fecking hell Dunk NO, just hoof it…

We met Roma too when they’re peek-Roma. But we also met the worst Ajax side since, well, since oven cleaner was invented.
